Congress expands Fast and Furious probe to White House
Los Angeles Times ^ | Sept. 09, 2011 | Richard A. Serrano

Posted on 09/13/2011 5:28:17 AM PDT by Broker

Congressional investigators reviewing the failed gun-tracking program Operation Fast and Furious have formally asked the Obama administration to turn over copies of "all records" involving three key White House national security officials and the program, other ATF gun cases in Phoenix, and all communications between the White House and the ATF field office in Arizona.

The letter signed Friday by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Vista), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, and Sen. Charles E. Grassley of Iowa, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, was sent to National Security Advisor Thomas E. Donilon, a top aide to President Obama.

It marks a significant step in the committee's investigation into the failed gun-tracking operation, as the committee begins to broaden its investigation from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and targets White House and Department of Justice officials.

I’m with you JDW. Thanks Broker.

I missed the previous post, and was glad to see it this time.

Somehow I usually do not think to search for titles of articles that I have not yet read, and would have missed this one completely.

Feh. You gotta ask nicely before you bring the hammer down. They will refuse to cough up the papers. Issa will (should) subpoena them. If he doesn’t, that’s a red flag. They will probably refuse the subpoena, and that’s where the constitutional crisis will begin, IF that is what Issa intends. If there’s to be a war, let it begin HERE.

Gunwalker was to get traceable weapons into the hands of the cartels,....Gunwalker was an attempt, under Bush, to find the extent of the guns going to Mexico. They had GPS or something in them and found there was NO Iron Pipeline into Mexico.

The cartel bosses are not stupid, and probably now control half of Mexico. They are worth billions.

BTW, I am more then confident, everything going into the cartels, vehicles, everything, is electronically swept for surveillance bugs, GPS transmitters etc.

This is all well and good to nail Holder...however, I can’t help but wonder if he and Obama are grinning while we take the BIG focus off 2014 and Obamacare. Rush talked about it today. Truly there are state efforts out there and not much press, and I hope we haven’t taken our focus off, but it sure feels like it. No Pubbies talking about it on the debates, either. If it isn’t 100% overturned, our nation is toast.

The more I've thought about this, the more I've concluded that the ATF and DOJ people involved are actually guilty of premeditated mass murder and should be prosecuted for it. The only logical purpose for F&F and Gunwalker was to get traceable weapons into the hands of the cartels, have them use the weapons to commit murders, trace the weapons back to American dealers, and blame legitimate gun owners and Second Amendment advocates for the carnage. Absent the carnage, there would be no political blame and no points to be scored. Thus, the guns had to be used to commit multiple murders for the whole evil scheme to work, and those who hatched the scheme had to intend that they be so used. That makes this whole thing a mass murder scheme and the individuals who developed and implemented it mass murderers.

Very well stated. This is the most direct and concise statement of the issue I've seen thus far. I hope Issa and Grassley have as clear a viw of the matter.

It’s funy that way. Since not everyone adds keywords, I find it hard to title search at random for anything that might pique my interest. ;)

“Remember Cops will stop at nothing to bring to justice the killer of a brother LEO and Agent Terry was a brother.”

Unless the murdered cop was a good cop and the bad cops
wanted him out of the way. Don’t forget, the border is a
haven for criminal activity on both sides.

No. I’m supremely confident that this affair does not make them smile. Their overall strategy will be to play hide the salami for as long as possible, through the election if they can.

I stand prepared to be corrected, but it has been my experience that police are all unionized, and it accounts for some counterintuitive cop behavior like protecting the goons who are rampaging through our streets like a horde ‘o barbarians.

It actually makes “Watergate” look like kidstuff, it should put him behind bars along with numerous others like Holder but of course it won’t happen.
