A basic definition of insanity often attributed to Albert Einstein is doing the same thing, over and over, while expecting different results.
President Obama, by proposing nearly $500 billion more in government spending to "create jobs," demonstrates liberal insanity quite well. Michael Savage has a book out titled, "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder" — I think he's on to something.
True enough, many liberal politicians may know full well that European-style socialism does not work. Sooner or later the well of other people's money runs dry. But, in the meantime, many are content to buy votes by taking wages from one citizen's productivity and distributing them to others.
Still, others actually believe the old liberty-killing ideas of Karl Marx can work. Because of his upbringing and the people he has been drawn to, Mr. Obama likely falls into the category of impulsively believing he can force a better America upon us (and he's certainly not above buying votes with other people's money).
The revolutionary ideas of redistributive justice have caused untold suffering and misery worldwide. But to modern-day liberals, that's irrelevant because they believe we now have a president with the brainpower to finally make forced wealth redistribution work...

The problem with liberals is, they want reality on their terms, not on how things actually are and (to an extent) always will be. Whether or not you like it, in life you have ot make sacrifices in order to live life and achieve what you want out of it. Go figure, they want it all on their terms, sometimes get it, but other people pay the price and the expense is often enormous. As you said, we used to lock such people up because they couldn’t or refused to function in soceity, on the terms of society that required taht things function smoothly.
Now because we don’t keep these types locked up, they are running around, chronically destabilizing society and then making the sane and stable pay for it. Another almost frightening facet is that even the stable are taking these people in and letting them wreck havoc on the lives of their own and their families. There’s no safety anymore because these types are being allowed to live life as if they have some right ot live in ‘normal’ society and damage it, sometimes irreperably. What is left of stable society is being forced to bend/twist/turn to accomodate these loonies and at some point there will be a break.
I just wonder, if America didn’t have this extensive welfare system, would we have these people able to really do these things? After all, when we didn’t have welfare as easily and amply available, we didn’t have a fraction of this sort of idiocy. Poeple were too busy making a living and also, the other weirdos didn’t have the resources to put these gay parades together. If we cut back on welfare for the people who don’t contribute, then there will be a huge drop in this sort of stuff because a lot of people will be too busy making a living and studying hard and also getting the skills they need to survive.
These people will only thrive only insofar that we are unwilling ot take charge and then proceed to extract them from our lives, through putting them in a loony bin or a prison, something where they will get the help they need and protect society from their instability.
No not all liberals are Insane.

A true Liberal would never lock their front door.
The reason they do lock their front door is because they know another Liberal would gladly walk into their house and self redistribute their Computer, TV and anything else not nailed down.

I've been saying this everywhere. That is the evolutionary root of all political ideology. Every population has individuals designed for what are called the r-selected and K-selected environments.
