FULLERTON, Calif. -- Fullerton police have cited drivers who allegedly honked their horns near a protest over the death of a mentally ill homeless man after a violent confrontation with officers.
Fullerton police Sgt. Andrew Goodrich says officers had received complaints about drivers honking excessively and holding down their horns at weekly Saturday protests.
Goodrich told the Orange County Register (http://bit.ly/oICqdH) that officers asked protesters to stop encouraging the honking but they refused.
Protesters gathered near the Police Department urge passers-by to honk in support of their demonstration over the death of 37-year-old Kelly Thomas. Thomas died in July after a clash with six officers investigating a report of burglaries at a transit hub.
The officers were placed on administrative leave. The district attorney's office and FBI are investigating Thomas' death.

First Amendment all the way...
Cops need to be charged found guilty and put in jail, end of story.
The stupid is strong in the Fullerton PD.
I'll settled for them being charged and tried.
yeah youre not allowed to horn your horn in CA
About 10 years ago in LA I got pulled over for honking at a guy in front of me who couldnt make up his mind...
I didnt get ticketed because i was
1. Nice and didnt curse at him..(he noticed that)
2. from a state where we didnt have a law like that (apparantly the officer had a list (!!!)
so I got a verbal warning...
Toublemakers looking for trouble.
Maybe the fact he was literally beat to death while handcuffed by about five cops in broad daylight and the people in Fullerton just maybe would like an answer as to why such a thing could happen by those they pay to "serve and protect"
...just a thought !
The children union leos shown to be worn, again.
The tickets have been rescinded by the adults in the FPD.
