Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) endorsed former Massachussetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) on Monday.
Pawlenty, who dropped out of the presidential race after a disappointing showing in the influential Iowa Straw Poll, called Romney "the complete package" and said that Romney's economic experience was a deciding factor in winning his endorsement.
"I believe he is going to be our party's nominee," Pawlenty said on Fox News's "Fox and Friends."
"I think he's going to be a transformational and great president for this country," Pawlenty added.
Pawlenty also said he would not consider being the Republican vice presidential nominee.
In the same interview Pawlenty also jabbed Romney opponent Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) for writing in his book "Fed Up!" that Social Security was a failed program. Pawlenty said Romney wanted to fix Social Security which was also the former Minnesota governor's stance. In the last few weeks Romney and Perry have repeatedly hit each other on their stances on Social Security.
"Governor Perry has said in the past that he thought it was failed," Pawlenty said.
In a followup email Pawlenty doubled down on Romney's economic qualifications for winning his endorsement.
"Mitt Romney is running for president, and I am proud to endorse him," Pawlenty said in a email blasted out by the Romney campaign shortly after he appeared on Fox and Friends. "Romney is running for president because he is deeply committed to our country, troubled by its current condition, and I believe he can turn it around."
You have now fully illustrated the depth of your intellectual argument. Thank you ... and God bless.
You want real change, you'll need a Constitutionally inspired reformer to do it. Neither Perry nor Romney is that person.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
No he is a rino, a friend and supporter of algores and a career politician. Owned and operated by cronyism.
Which fictional candidate are you going to vote for?
Well . . . that’ll give Romney 1 or 2 extra percentage points—now he only trails by 10 (according to the latest CNN poll). LOL!
This is the primary..."they" have to sell me on someone and so far, just like every primary election since Ronald Reagan left office, it's a rino fest.
To vote FOR someone, my litmus test is:
Will the Constitution and the freedom and liberty of the individual be protected or threatened by this person's Presidency?
Of those currently in the race, only Bachmann and Cain seem to pass that test, but Bachmann is a bit gaff prone and Cain has shown his inexperience.
It's still very early and the candidates will either improve or implode, so we'll have to wait and see how things work out.
’ Pawlenty...called Perry “the complete package” ‘
Sounds like he’s out of the closet now...
Well right there is reason enough to vote for Perry. You'll know them by their friends comes to mind.
Actually, I think that Pawlenty said that Perry HAS a complete package. Very suspicious...
creating an unstoppable juggernaut of charisma.
The states are going to have to tell the Federal government to back off.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry: 10th Amendment Gives States the Flexibility to Meet Challenges

What a shock. Romney’t Mini Me endorses him.
They've practically closed the sale on RINO Rick Perry who is Romney without the affection for socialized medicine. Plus the sense to throw conservatives some good sound bytes.
And, if they get an upset, Romney is Rick Perry without the affection for illegal aliens.
The only things the establishment has to worry about at this point is:
Nobody gives a rats ass what Pawlenty thinks!
[but the GOP does not know how to tap into what We The People are feeling.]
Or perhaps, cannot, because they have no moral high ground to stand on.
As much as I like Palin, I fear that that assessment is correct.
The only reason Pawlenty would have to do this is because he thought his support would go to Mitt when he dropped out, but they believe it actually went to Perry.
