Gibson Guitar Henry Juszkiewicz was invited to Obamas speech to Congress tonight. (TPM)
Gibson Guitar Corp. CEO Henry Juszkiewicz slammed big liberal Obama after his partisan speech to Congress tonight. The Corner reported:
Henry Juszkiewicz, the chief executive officer of Gibson Guitar Corp., tells National Review Online that President Obama, a big liberal, has done untold damage to business and should not be applauded for his jobs speech. Hes a government fan, he says. He has a problem with successful businesses. He thinks theyre the problem, that they shouldnt be quite as successful.
He is using the levers of government to not only redistribute, but to penalize, he adds. I see a difference between what he said and what hes doing.
Gibson has been under federal investigation in recent months, reportedly for its importation practices. Juskiewicz blames the Obama administration for causing his company, an iconic American brand, to lose money and lawyer up.
Were under attack, Juskiewicz says. Its pretty interesting to see that one of the points in Obamas speech was to cut back regulationand promote jobs, when, in fact, hes done just the opposite with us.
Right on, Henry. We are all with you brother.
I already own one Gibson, but my next guitar is going to have to be another Gibson.
If you don’t own a Gibson, buy one. They don’t lose their value. They are as good an investment as gold.
Hes not stopping with business. Everything is going exactly as planned.
It was the Communist plan in 1934. It is 0bamas Communist plan today.
Communists never change their goals.
Sometimes it seems like they’ve given up, but that’s just the “dialectic” at work.
They’ve seen great gains in the last few years with the election of a forthright committed communist to the highest office in the land. When/if this doesn’t accomplish the final putsch, they’ll turn violent. Be prepared.
Overheard at the WH: Eric, make sure Gibson sleeps with the fishes!!! I fear soon Henry Juszkiewicz and Gibson, a 100+ year old icon American company with HUGE impact on American Popular music with AMAZING innovations (F5 mandolin, Les Paul, j45, RB banjos, lots more! some vintage Gibsons sell for $ix figures+), will be destroyed by the Bamster syndicate. As will all who do not worship at the altar of Obama! Greedo Bamster Corolone? DAMN SCARY.
I have been looking for a good “save the Les Pauls” T-shirt.
I, too, own one Gibson and five Epiphones (Owned by Gibson) and a Taylor. Looking into buying another Gibson.
OblahMao only likes hot air guitars—the kind he can play with his flapping lips. Music for demented leftists ears.
Big ears thoroughly enjoys himself speak the words of the teleprompter.
Years ago I owned a Gibson Hummingbird copy, which was amazingly close to the real thing. Thinking about buying the real thing. Beautiful guitar.
When Levin interviewed the guy, he sounded fairly apolitical. He said he had donated and supported both parties. He also sounded overwhelmed by what was happening.
He seems to be awakening to political reality.
do yourself a favor-
buy the real thing
you wont go back
Henry's a founder of The Rainforest Alliance. He served on its Board of Directors until Gibson was accused of importing Madagascar ebony, at which time he stepped down as a Director and is now only a member.
Henry's also a member of The Environmental Defense Fund, which battles global warming, and a board member of the We Are Family Foundation, whose mission is "respect, understanding and cultural diversity."
Along with positive programs, it sponsors "Mattie's Poetry Slam for Tolerance and Diversity" for children in hospitals; the International Day for Tolerance at the United Nations; national recognition for "We Are Family Day," for teachers, parents and educators of all kinds to teach our youth about different cultures, different religions and the importance of respecting our fellow human beings; and more.
Juszkiewicz is "active in the Clinton Global Initiative and numerous environmental causes." ('We are passionate about our commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative' - Henry Juszkiewicz)
Your source is Gibson's Corporate Kit on Juszkiewicz (I've known he was involved in liberal causes because of my connections in the music industry as a collector of guitars for the last forty years).
Gibson Guitar, itself, runs the Gibson foundation has been involved in replacing musical instruments lost in Katrina since 2005 (I say, thanks, Gibson), and promoting the John Lennon Education Bus Tour.
Henry bought a company that was already non-union. He's not the guy who moved Gibson from Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Contrary to the blogs that mention only his contributions to Republicans, Henry contributed $2,000 to Democratic Congressman Jim Cooper (TN) (a moderate) in March of this year. (Makes you wonder why bloggers leave that out when they talk about Chris Martin IV's Democrat contributions. Is it ignorance, or does that fact fail to promote the bloggers' agenda?)
Obama is a ultra-liberal, but I don't need Henry Juszkiewicz to tell me that. Juszkiewicz is no conservative.
When does the government put out a Recall by Serial Number so that musicians know to turn their axes in?
*Laughing*
Amen, brother.
You may not know that I've been called everything but a Child of God for continuing to post information from Federal Agent affidavits, the pleadings in the ongoing civil case, internal Gibson emails, and problems with Gibson's Press Releases, Juszkiewicz's statements, and blogger posts ("Gibson is the only guitar manufacturer in a right-to-work state", I read, as I play one of the two made-in-Texas Collings guitars I've purchased this year alone).
From the beginning, I've been trying to tell people NOT to believe Gibson's Press Releases or Henry's speeches. They contain misleading statements and leave out key facts.
Am I saying the government is right? No (I think the government is wrong on its East Indian Rosewood interpretation, although I wonder why Gibson had to use the complicated process of using a proxy ultimate consignee on the Dallas and Canadian shipments).
I'm just saying: don't trust Gibson. What Gibson and Juszkiewicz say is not The Gospel. Doesn't anyone realize what Juszkiewicz's reputation was for ego and veracity was before these incidents? Do they understand why Gibson was ranked the #1 Worst Place to Work in the U.S. out of 11,000 companies (hint: the CEO)?
Do not trust bloggers. They know very little about guitars or the guitar industry and do little or no research.
And Juszkiewicz has never produced that "pleading" in which the government "told Gibson that its problems would go away if it used Madagascar labor" because that pleading doesn't exist. I have all the pleadings.
The truth is in the middle, but given the atmosphere that Obama and his DOJ have created, Juszkiewicz is playing the conservative public and the "research? we don't need no stinkin' research" media like a violin.
You sound like me. I’m a fender strat guy but like the humbucker sound of the Gibson. I finally had the cash and bought a Taylor 814ce after going through my ovation phase. I’d like two more guitars to complete my stash. A nice Gibson jazz guitar and a Custom made baritone acoustic.
Does Collins make acoustic baritone guitars?
