SIMI VALLEY, Calif. The scrap between Rick Perry and Mitt Romney may have gotten more attention in Wednesdays presidential candidates debate, but it was tame compared to the dust-up between Mr. Perry and Rep. Ron Paul, two Texans who apparently have spent plenty of time digging up dirt on each other and arent afraid to use it.
At one point when the video cameras werent rolling though the incident was caught by still photographers Mr. Perry walked over Mr. Pauls lectern, took hold of the congressmans wrist and wagged his finger at him.
The physical exchange was matched by the intensity of the two mens verbal attacks on each other.

I cant believe that nobody at the debate said: Here we are at the Reagan Library, and here is Rick Perry, who was a Democrat during the Reagan years. When Perry said to Romney: Michael Dukakis created more jobs in Mass. than you did Romney should have said You should know, you were a Democrat during those years. Uh. Reagan Library. Ronald Reagan. Also left the Democrat party. Try smarmy again?!

Exactly.
you don't get to be president by being some shrinking violet.
If career politician Ron Paul can't handle a little inter-personal gamesmanship, how will he handle any of America's enemies?
Oh, wait...

Nutter Ron Paul is up against a Texan...born and breed here. Ron Paul is from some place up north...only a transplant living in Texas...not a Texan in the sense of Rick Perry.

Every time I see Ron Paul and hear him speak I am more convinced that he is in early stages of dementia.

This ain't high school student council we are contesting here. The nation is at dire risk now and if Obama is reelected, certain disaster. This is an intellectual debate, not Wednesday Smackdown. What this tells me is that Rick Perry takes Ron Paul a lot more seriously than most of the rest of you do.

He has taken non-pc positions on two issues: Social security and global warming. The Beltway take is "don't upset the old folks." And it is true that a lot of boomers and earlier have taken the stance; apres moi, l'deluge. And Cheney is right: the "Greatest Generation" made out like bandits from government funding, from the GI Bill onwards to full social security checks regardless of income. Other senior don't take kindly to the suggestion that we are in fact moochers on the public dime. Speaking of, that was a great moment from Paul. When he said. I can get you a better price on gasoline: One gallon for a silver dime. Beautifical illustration on the role that inflation has played since 1988, espec. All those bubbles that are now bursting.

There is a difference between private citizen Ronald Reagan being a Democrat during the New Deal, and public office-holder Rick Perry being a Democrat DURING the Reagan years.
Big difference.

How can a Gov. and a Congressman from the same state who have been in office for some time never meet? From the same state AND the same Party. Excellent question. But they both admit that they'd never met.

Why not come out with what you are thinking? You want to bash Perry? Go ahead. Or even worse... Are you here to support poor RoPaul? When someone walks up to you at the podium, gets a hold of your arm/wrist with one hand (however roughly or gently) and then sticks his finger in your face with the other, it's physically aggressive.
This isn't really about Ron Paul, although as I said before it's obvious that Perry takes Ron Paul more seriously than most of you. It's about Rick Perry. What if he had done this to any one of the other candidates? What if he had done this to Bachmann?
Personally, I think that we've just seen the real Rick Perry -- and he's a bully.
