PRESS RELEASE
MANASSAS, Va., Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Richard A. Viguerie, Chairman of ConservativeHQ.com, issued the following statement regarding the outcome of the Republican presidential debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California:
"No one knocked Rick Perry off his perch.
"There are two principal tests a candidate must pass to become the Republican nominee in 2012.
"First, the candidate must be seen to be a conservative. Second, the candidate must convince Republican primary voters that he or she can beat President Obama.
"When Governor Perry announced his candidacy, I said he was the only candidate who met both tests.
"There were eight candidates on the stage. To win the debate, one of the other GOP contenders had to meet those two tests--be seen as a conservative and show he or she can beat Obama. And the person had to show he or she can do those two things better than Rick Perry.
"Each of the candidates had their moments and each showed they had a constituency, but none of the other candidates scaled that tall mountain and knocked Perry out of the front runner's role."

Full court press to stave of Palin. The whole bunch looked like fools that were bushwhacked with crazy questions designed to generate discord among the candidates.
There was an overly obvious disparity of time spent on Romney and Perry with Huntsman bringing up the rear. Only intelligent response was by Newt.
If you liked any of these guys before the debate, you probably still do,but there was no winner, just the fact that no one imploded, although Perry came close to sounding like Obama when his teleprompter goes whacky, over the question on Global warming.
Perry did poorly on explaining what a Ponzie scheme was, in fact he didn’t explain it at all, he can’t assume the young people know who the man that made that term infamous was or what he did.
You may not have liked Cain’s answers, but at least he articulated his responses well.
Michelle, bless her heart can never be accused of getting $600.00 haircuts.
Yes indeed.
I think it is wonderful to see a real man in the debate for a change.
LOL! PRNEWSWIRE for people who have to pay someone to get published!
Michelle, bless her heart can never be accused of getting $600.00 haircuts.
That said, I think she did quite well.
Nobody won the debate and as long as the main stream media has control of the debates nobody will. The whole idea of these debates is to ask questions that discredit or skew the candidate’s responses to make them look bad or look good depending on who the MSM wants running against their precious Democrats.
I have always told people that if Hitler had had our mainstream media working for him World War Two would have never happened , as all of Europe would have joined him and there would be no Jews in Europe
And I don't understand that. This is the First Time I have heard Bachman speak.
I liked her. A Lot.
Perry didn’t lose. Bachmann didn’t advance. While Newt was proportionately shortchanged, he did advance. Paul was proportionately given more attention, but he did not advance. I think that the more Mitt speaks, he loses ground.
The rest were mediocre, so I will have to award the win to Perry.

Not in this case...

I think Santorum looked bad, I think Paul looked desperate and I think Huntsman killed himself by calling us luddites on global warming.
I don’t think Perry fumbled GW at all
He showed that scientist’s said Galileo was a fool for ages.
I loved Al Sharpton attacking Perry as a rube over this while citing Perry’s invocation of “Gahlayo”(Sharptons pronunciation)
The winner of tonights debate was — Sarah Palin.
I think you're right, but what good does it do?
I agree, the gut punch to Brian Williams was the moment it happened.
No, in all cases. That is what PR newswire is, you pay them to publish your “press release”.
weak sauce.
Hardly. The point you miss is that Richard Viguerie doesn't have to pay to be published.
Among other things, he is a publisher.
I wouldn't be surprised one bit if PR Newswire posted his press release as a professional courtesy.
Dear Roy:
Your letter was waiting for me when I returned. I appreciate your concern(Nancy shared it) about security but, believe me, in both countries[Japan,Korea] they had really gone all out. I never saw so many uniforms in my life, outside of a war movie or parade. As a matter of fact, I was practically in a military parade whereever I went. I didnt complain.
Thank you for your response to [Richard] Viguerieit was great. You know this so-called conservative has never been for me. Back in 76 he and a few of his ilk had me to a secret meeting in which they pushed for me running on a third party ticket. I told them I was going to run as a Republican and that what they proposed just didnt make sense. That did it for meI became the enemy. In 1980 they were for Connolly. But you told him off in great style. Thanks
Best regards,
Ron

See post #37. Good to keep on file for Viguerie. No matter which candidate any of us support he’ll end up stabbing ‘em in the back.
I appreciate the post. Thanks. We better keep an eye on Viguerie.
I think Mitt is working hard not to lose, rather than trying to win.
