Erick Erickson: “moving on from Sarah Palin is like leaving Scientology” (Erick, grow up!)
Legal Insurrection ^ | 9/7/2011 | William Jacobson

Posted on 09/07/2011 10:18:27 AM PDT by Lakeshark

I guess that makes me a Scientologist, because I’ve posted repeatedly that Palin holds a special position because there is no one — not even George W. Bush — who has been the subject of the Democratic, mainstream media and left-blogosphere smear machine to the extent Palin has.

So yes, I do take it personally when conservatives lash out at Palin not because of her policy positions or what she’s done or not done in her career, but with personal invective.

It’s not religion, its a cold hard understanding of what is to come, and how those who call Palin a diva or a tease or any of the other names coming from media conservatives do damage to us all. Palin is simply the test case for how the Republican nominee, whoever that person may be, will be treated, and we pile on her at our own peril.
**snip**
Simply by waiting to announce, Palin has driven media conservatives mad. It all seems so familiar.

I mocked your entire post already, and it was incredibly mockable. No need to continue. Your entire post was an attack, as a lot of other posters have opined.

And yes, there are some cretins that deserved to be atttacked, you just happen to be one of them. Sorry about that. Maybe you ought to consider changing.

I don't get all the hit pieces by right wingers against fellow Conservatives.

Comparing Palin to Scientology = garbage.

Comparing Perry to Obama = garbage.

If we don't get our act together, we are going to blow this golden opportunity to rid the world of Obama because we are mired in search of the "perfectly pure" candidate.

Thank you for the ping, onyx. This isn't the first time a Perrybot has talked about me w/o pinging me. I think they talk to themselves a lot too. I give them as much credence as I would a Romneybot; same rhetoric just a different RINO.

But then came my experience with the Palinistas. These are the people like Brices, Diogenesis, South40, Red South, et al.

So I am a "Palinista" now? Did you know that onyx? :-)

So much to poke fun at and so little time. Maybe later.

If she announced early she would have to spend her hard won campaign funds and perhaps run out too soon.

Candidates have to be able to raise and budget funds effectively. They have to build organizations in most if not all states. They have to debate other candidates and argue their ideas with them in public forums…

The reasons I see given for Sarah not getting in I read as: she doesn't want to do what it takes to be a candidate.

For months, I've said I want everyone who could beat Obama to run, to get in and fight for it, so that we could see how good, or bad, a candidate they are and would be in the general election.

I like Sarah, but it's time to enter the race.

Could you please show us the post? I'm curious to see who said such a thing.

I was recently called "Satan Boy" by a Palin supporter. It was last week sometime. I can probably find it when I get home.

Actually, if you're interested, just search my posts - It was not so long ago.

BTW, Paul people can’t or won’t answer tough questions, and sometimes respond with silly bromides.

Can not argue with you there.

I invite you to join the “Cult of Palin @ Trollhenge”. we give them/respond with the mockery they deserve. Nothing shuts them up faster than catering to the stereotype. They can’t get the rise so they drop the tactic of ‘cultist, palinista etc.

Be nice to have an adult conversation with them, but it’s impossible when your opponent acts like a catty schoolgirl. So we mock. ;)

How does her waiting to announce show leadership? or decisiveness? Palin has gone celeb on us, and the oldest media trick in the book is the one where you string people along for the ‘big reveal’. She was supposed to have a big announcement in Iowa this past week. She delivered a standard-issue speech with no big announcement. yawn. Many folks are getting bored with it and moving on. How do you talk honestly about the fact that she’s jumped the shark, when the left has PDS and says everything to hurt her, and her own supporters have thin skin due to that media assault? Palin would do everyone a favor and show leadership by making a clear decision as soon as possible and ‘get on with it’ whatever it is.

So Palin is... indecisive, unable to show leadership, going celeb, stringing people along, boring and has jumped the shark... all because she is going to announce in September.

If you don't want Palin that's fine, but please spare us the nonsense.

Thanks for coming out of the closet CA, but most of us knew what kind of a steaming pile you were anyway.

Your comments have absolutely glowed with hatred of the woman that will be our next president, and all who support her.

No... we are in search of a Conservative with the ability to save this Great Republic... we are not trying to just win an election for the republican establishment. That way of doing business is dead... over... never again. Purity does not enter into it... but we must not back someone who does not believe in the tenants of our ideology... for they will be a false conservative like Bush or worse... like snowe or graham.

The whole “purity” thing is a red herring anyway. Someone is either a conservative demonstrated by deed, not word, or they arent.

If a candidate is conservative, A conservative should support them. If someone wants to say that conservatives should abandon what they believe in just to win, then what’s the point of being conservative at all? Shouldn’t we just say to hell with everything and vote for the most winning candidate of either party because then we will have backed the winner?

Can’t be both ways folks. That’s reality. Words mean things and some here have forgotten that, if they ever believed it to begin with. Some Freepers need to step back and really think about what they REALLY believe. Then act accordingly.

That simple.

Amen!

Im becoming more amazed every day at how politically naive so many Freepers are.

Palin has it well under control. Her every word drives the Mediots and GOP thugs nuts.

Your comments have absolutely glowed with hatred of the woman...

That's a lie - I have never said anything to indicate I hate Sarah - I just don't think she can win, and I don't think she is ready for the job (yet). If you consider that to be "hatred", then you are confirming the point made by Erickson and Coulter.

...that will be our next president,...

That is extremely unlikely.

...and all who support her.

Not ALL who support her - just the ones like you. And hatred is probably a little strong - disgust, dismay revulsion, maybe.

It is even worse than that. If she has decided to run and has not informed Fox News of that fact, knowing that they have a policy of suspending or terminating commentators that are running for public office, then she is taking money from them under false pretenses. That is dishonest and unethical.

Nonsense.

Palin is free to announce when she wants to announce and Fox is free to dismiss her when they think that she is running.

I'll tell you what is unethical.

Perry taking a public paycheck to be a full time governor and Perry running for president, a full time responsibility.
