They are keeping 370 other firearms even though no charges have been made in the case yet. Hard to say if there were any violations of the law from the article.

The 370 are probably not returned because cops walked out the door with them.

WTF?
“because the antiques do not meet the federal government’s definition of a firearm.”
If it can be shot, then what the heck is it? I own some “offcial” antiques. They shoot.
Lots wrong with this story

because the antiques do not meet the federal governments definition of a firearm. Guns that do not fire fixed ammunition, such as muzzle loaders, and guns made before 1898, are not regulated by the federal government.
The feds are used to confiscating everything and nobody tells them that they can not, they do not have the jurisdiction. Someone stood up to them in this case, so that is a good thing.

My guess is that he was raided because he wouldn’t cooperate with the ATF and their straw buyer.

Several years ago a man was killed in a hunting accident in north Carolina, it took his widow 4 years to get his guns back, and then it only happened because a judge started fining the local sheriff a $1000 a day for violation of a court order to return the property.

They are TAKING our guns.
They are stealing our money and giving it to those who won’t work for their own.
They are groping our little girls at the airport.
They are shutting down our economy using fake environmental concerns.
When, oh when, is it EVER going to be time, Claire?

...guns made before 1898, are not regulated by the federal government.Actually, I think it's guns made in 1898 or earlier - before 1899, in other words - that meet the federal definition of "antiques."
