Exclusive Report: Documents indicate ATF, FBI allowed Indiana ‘crime gun’ sales
Examiner.Com ^ | September 5, 2011 | David Codrea

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has acknowledged an Indiana dealer’s cooperation in conducting straw purchases at the direction of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  Exclusive documents obtained by Gun Rights Examiner show the dealer cooperated with ATF by selling guns to straw purchasers, and that bureau management later asserted these guns were being traced to crimes.

From the confidential source providing the documents:

The dealer…was sent a "demand letter," based on the number of traces to him, which was retracted after his attorney pointed out they resulted from his cooperation with ATF. (Strangely, he got two voicemails from two different ATF people, both saying they were the head of the tracing operation).

Some of the straw men turned out to have felony convictions, the agents called the FBI background check system and fixed it so the transactions would be approved, something which may also have happened in Phoenix. (The attorney wasn't clear as to whether the guns were actually delivered to the gangs).

It can’t be said to have “backfired” until the perps are legally dealt with. that depends at the moment on Issa and breaking into the MSM. For most of the population, even if they are not buying enough newspapers or watching network news enough to keep them solvent, those are their sources for what they think is reality, or at least the authoritative instructions as to what is important.

Drudge has been SO Missing In Action on all of this it’s simply incredible.

I guess when you get to a certain level of income and fame the new mark of the “real professional” is indicated by which stories you DON’T cover?

That is the type of thinking that set the stage for Drudge’s success.

I refresh Drudge at least 10 times daily, but I’m truly, truly disappointed in him.

I’m shocked.

Why do they act like this? Because the left’s view is that we aren’t simply misguided, but instead that we KNOW we are wrong and that we’re KNOWINGLY choosing EVIL.

Because of that, they feel that special measures like F&F are JUSTIFIED. They regret getting caught, sure —that slows them down. But they do NOT feel guilt —they see their efforts as IDEALISTIC.

Yes, you are correct.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. C. S. Lewis

I just sent a link to the article. If you go to the bottom right of the Drudge page there is a place to post news.
I suggest everyone do the same. Sort of like a Freep a poll.
Try it.

These guys, Codrea and Mike Vanderbeough at sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com, are as credible as it gets. Their sources have proven impeccable and they are solely responsible for what MSM coverage there’s been plus the hearings in congress.

You will NOT FIND better coverage, or more reliable.

I have been getting emails for about two months now saying that there is a Texas connection. According to these emails the Texas Rangers have investigated and are preparing warrants for Federal employees. I pray this is true.

Codrea broke this story and so far has been dead on with his published info. He clearly has a good bead on it.

“These guys [...] are as credible as it gets”

I don’t doubt that. But there are LARGE numbers of people for whom it needs to be in a big publication or it didn’t happen. That sucks, but it’s true. I would like to share this with some of them.

So the administration that has been selling guns to Mexican Drug Cartels and American Gang Bangers, just had one of its Union Thugs, a son of a gangster, declare war on peaceful Americans who just want spending to be cut. Obama is making Chavez look like a reasonable person.

Then share away. David Codrea and Mike V both have links to Fox and CBS, who have both covered it.

And what other parts of the country did the ATF command that the guns be allowed to walk into the hands of criminals?

Maybe NYC - awful lot of highly publicized shootings lately, and Bloompimp wants those mean guns out of the hands of “kids”.
