(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate and Texas Gov. Rick Perry will not attend the Palmetto Freedom Forum of GOP candidates Monday night, sponsored by Sen. Jim DeMint, and will instead return to Texas to deal with the wildfires in the state, DeMint's office told CNN.

Well said - thank you.
(Whispering: 2008 Sarah Palin did not resign as Governor of Alaska before she joined McCain’s campaign.)
Here is one difference. Freepers defended Bush and Palin. The source of their reviling was not coming from Freepers as they are toward Perry
There is legitimate criticism, and there is mindless bashing and mud slinging.
Bashing Perry on this echoes the DUmmies' bashing of Bush for failing to leap to his feet and run screaming from the schoolroom when informed of 9/11.
That’s rich, and of course you will stop attacking Perry, right? I’m done with you. Go peddle your juvenile thought process to somebody else.
Not criticising Perry in particular since it’s what big bosses do, but has anyone here ever been in a critical situation where having the big boss show up improved anything? Or did it just get all concerned looking over their shoulders?
The gunfire was in Alaska and everyone knows that and that wasnt the direction she ran. If she had who knows what victory might have come? She didn’t she passed over to her LT
Well said, Don-o. There are many things a reasonable person could disagree with Perry on. This isn’t one of them, and makes the detractors look petty and vindictive.
(And, I’m an agnostic on the subject of Perry.)
People are losing their homes, a$$hole!
Prayers up.
You’re welcome. A girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do! I read your posts, I’m so sorry for your worries. The wind seems to have lessened a bit here in Central Texas. It’s still here, but not as strong as it was this morning.
Damn Yankee. You are a bad reflection on Sarah Palin. I’m sure she doesn’t relish your kind of support.
But you might want to look out for a tingly feeling on the top of your head.
As regards Rick Perry--am looking forward to hearing him debate, but am glad he's going back to Texas. Had NO idea that his requests for disaster relief from the Obummer Admin had not been granted.
Just goes to show that unless we put our political opinions aside and focus on the real enemy--the Far Left that is running our nation into the ground (as Fast and Furious--ly as the hijackers brought Flight 175 into the North Tower), we may well be DOOMED!
It is very much human nature to see the "splinters" in someone else's eyes--especially if they are a candidate we want to support--we often forget about the "planks" in the eyes of our own candidate(s). In every candidate there are going to be splinters--and planks. And, as your post reminds us, acting like DUmmies by using those "planks" to beat up on each other does NOT help promote the kind of CIVIL discourse that is so basic to the preservation of our democracy--and this FreeRepublic!
So thank you for your post, and God bless you and--again--all those in the way of those horrible fires.
So she headed towards taking on the White House. First the Nov. 2010 Teanami, then Madison ("Mr. President, game on!") and now speeches building up to...
And that's what's driving people crazy. Especially partisans of other GOP candidates.
Cheers!
Be vary careful in agreeing with me. One of Sarah’s cheerleaders has dubbed me “Satan Boy”.
Try to show a little class, huh?
Funny how a large segment of them are Perrysites.
Nonetheless, pray for Texas. Conflagrations suck.
LLS
FYI, much of Texas, already suffering from extreme drought, was under a wind advisery yesterday and things got worse fast.
This is not time for stupid politics...people are losing their homes.
