America is “on fire” and need of help.
He must have gotten higher orders from Rove or Romney.

Main fire is 16 miles long and 6 miles wide and is one of 60 separate fires going on in Texas.

I bet he’ll look better at the command center than Obama did during Irene.
To: Diogenesis
Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t. The PDS crew was disparaging Perry on a couple of different threads for not going back to Texas last night, now he catches flak for going back. PDS sufferers are very fickle.

That’s lame, and mighty inconsiderate of those who lost homes, productive land, and livestock in these horrible fires.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Oh, and by the way: Palin STILL isn’t running. And Paul is STILL a crackpot. I’m sure one or both of those statements applies to the horse you’ve put YOUR money on.

By the way, when you are governor of a state, you don't leave it high and dry mid term to fulfill your own personal agenda.
If it's so important he attend, where will Palin be?

I am in no way a Perry supporter but I do think this was the right decision. It may be purely a political decision... but he is Governor today and he should be at the helm of his state during this kind of disaster. He is doing what any Governor should do... and although I am not a big supporter of my Governor Haley Barbour... there is no doubt in my mind that he would have made the same decision. Now some pos like cuomo or obama would have to focus group a decision like this. That would take a day or two... luntz takes time to work his trade.

I give him credit for going home. Had he not, it would have severely hurt him, especially in light of Obama playing golf during other natural disasters. Fiddling while Texas burns would have NOT been good.
Prayers for Central Texas!

In all honesty, I believe Rick Perry is using this as an excuse. His team probably believes it is best to keep most people in the dark regarding his record on illegal immigration, etc for as long as possible.BANG!
Another injured foot.

Oh my. How horrible. Prayers up for the family.
I haven’t heard of any loss of life or injuries so far here in Central Texas, which is a miracle. Some of the fires are really bad.
