(CNN) - Republican presidential candidate and Texas Gov. Rick Perry will not attend the Palmetto Freedom Forum of GOP candidates Monday night, sponsored by Sen. Jim DeMint, and will instead return to Texas to deal with the wildfires in the state, DeMint's office told CNN.

This one is not the place. There are many people here who actually care about people whose lives are at risk. Many who have been up all night, like me, crying, worrying about friends and loved ones in the path of this monster fire, still trying to find out what is going on in certain areas - and we are just not in the mood for your despicable antics here.
Please, if you cannot put aside you pathological hatred of Perry long enough to support fellow Americans who are in great danger, if you cannot for just a moment overcome your hatred to offer a prayer or a word of comfort to those who are suffering, then please just go away.

Perry should've been at home anyway: think how the press treated Bush over Katrina.
Or how they treated Palin over Couric's interview and Charles Gibson's.

I’m all grown up thank you. Why are you here? I’m here because I am a native Texan, my state is on fire, there are fires within 30 miles of where I live, loved ones are in danger and I want to see what FReepers in the path of the fires and with inside knowledge have to say. Lives and livelihoods are going up in flames today so take your Perry bashing to a more appropriate thread.
P.S. Maybe you could find it in your Perry hating heart to say a prayer for all of us.
I don’t hate Perry and if only you would admonish your fellow Perry supporters to stop attacking Palin on this thread, and then take that advice yourself, we could all move along.
