Texas Gov. Rick Perry called in to Mark Levin's radio show and the two had a wide-ranging conversation. Levin ended by saying, while he is not endorsing anyone yet for the GOP Nomination, Perry is "up there with candidates acceptable to me."
I think that’s a great way to frame it. I like Levin, but he’s not always right.
Look at Gingrich. He’s absolute brilliant on some matterst but at other times he’s a complete idiot. Talking points, generally yes. Leadership, a big no.
“But I havent found him to be very insightful or useful when it comes to picking candidates for office.”
Do you have an example? I don’t feel that way at all and I consider myself to be pretty knowledgeable.
“Ummm Dave, she endorsed Perry for President.”
Okay. You have the floor, my FRiend.
Rush and Levin have both made remarks to the effect that Republicans should be forgiving of Perry for his very poor record on illegal aliens. They are putting defeating Obama above all other considerations, including important issues.
Levin made a mistake in being one of the first spokesmen who brought Sharon Angle much needed positive publicity early in that primary. He overlooked her unsettling past statements on SS that Harry Reid used to such beneficial effect. The right candidate could have defeated Reid, but Angle had too many negatives that should have been vetted before so many jumped on her bandwagon.
And Perry needs to pipe down about SS. All his blabbering on that subject would not play well at all in a general election, and we can count on Dim ads showing him blasting SS as a ponzi scheme and other remarks he has made. Common sense is a great asset and Perry needs to starts using some.
It doesn’t matter how much some love to hear a candidate blast SS and also the minimum wage. Blasting either or both is a good way to ensure the election of Dims.
“Perry reminds me of ...”
OK. But was he? A lot of pretty bright and respectable people “remind me of” someone else. But I don’t dismiss them because of that.
What gives with that answer? Is he that guy or is he someone who reminds you of that guy, because this is supposed to be a serious and thoughtful exercise, picking a candidate. Or don’t votes matter?
Mark Levin is as respected as they come. I don’t believe what I’m reading on some of these posts. Calling Levin “elite” aqnd RINO is just PURE bullshit. PURE.
Thanks.
I don’t think the Palin supporters would hate Perry so much if he hadn’t quickly gone to first place in the polls.
They don’t understand how we possibly could have forgotten Sarah already.
Most Perry supporters still think highly of Sarah but Sarah supporters hate Perry and any of us who might support him.
Yeah, but it’s perfectly fine of recent to deconstruct Reagan to make some people look better. And since that seems to be allowed even here, I guess we’ll both have to buck up.
I just don’t get the cult of personality derangement.
Lets attack everybody EXCEPT OBAMA, not named Palin.
As I keep saying.
Once we were all Broken Glass Republicans.
And...Compared to Obama....Clinton was Ronald Reagan.
We’ve got a commie in the White House, and these guys are basically saying
screw America, if we cant Have Sarah.
No ABO = NBP.
And that, is...UnAmerican. Sorry.
Let me ask you a straight-up question about property rights.
Now Perry was in favor of the Taco highway, running from Mexico to all points north.
It’s my understanding that Perry dropped that goofy idea.
In your opinion, did he drop that doopey idea because of pressure from the citizens or because he realized it was a stupid idea?
I’m asking this to determine for myself on whether or not Perry is persuadable from the elected citizenry or he needs a lightning bolt from God on the road to Damascus.
Since you consider yourself knowledgeable, do you have examples where Levin helped you pick the right candidate you weren't able to decide on yourself?
He thinks he is. so get in line pard...
I should address two things you addressed to me.
One, I have observed things that Perry has done that cancel him out for me. That made the analogy I made make perfect sense for me.
Two, I didn’t take Levin to the woodshed here. I stated I like the guy and I do. That doesn’t prevent me from disagreeing with him from time to time. This is one of those times, and even now I am not using the disagreement to cast him in any negative light.
TGO is not suspect and I heard the interview LIVE and again on LEVIN-ReWinde.
You know that I am solidly for Sarah Palin and I think TGO conducted a good interview.
TGO was not going to fight with Governor Perry or call him out on issues during their first interview. TGO might ask for clarification on important issues in later interviews, but I don’t expect our guys to do the bidding for the democrats!
Sheeesh!
TGO is a rock solid conservative and we all know it.
I try to refrain from outright rudeness, but your being an idiot.
George W. Bush Campaigned on and Privatizing Social(ist In)security..and Won.
subsequently he got 9/11 dropped in his lap, Then Insituted the Bush Doctrine (you dont understand it, and I've not the patience to explain it, but Obama, the commie, is conducting Foreign Policy on it)
Better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubts, okay..?
Well said :)
Candidates aside, we need to ALL be Broken Glass Republicans again.
(perry)
If at the end of the line hes the one left standing, I would be extremely enthused about him because Im a believer in ABO anybody but Obama. So, absolutely. But theres still a long time in this process, Palin said,
M. Kelly video from August 18th (11:42) When asked what would make Palin get in the race...PALIN:(quickly typed)... still looking for a candidate I can get my heart and soul behind to support if I don't see that person in short order I would be willing to put my name forward in the name of service...
KELLY: Have you not found him or her yet?
PALIN: No, I'm impressed with the line up but there still is quite a long process, lot of coming and goings with this line up... I know I'm not the only potential candidate sitting on the sidelines waiting to see things unfold.
“Levin is a hard show to go on, Perry at least DID it.”
Actually Levin is respectful of his guests and isn’t all that hard on them. It’s the stupid callers he treats like crap.
Take that any way you want.
But as Sarah said....the end game is ABO.
Period.
And when asked s about Perry, she said, If he’s the last man standing, I’m on board.
There is no spinning that.
I’ve seen comments here that the Party, The Cause, and the Country be damned, and take umbrage at that.
When I see No ABO....that really says NBP.
Me...I’m a broken glass guy.
If you have conservative Principles, it means eradicating the commie no matter who it is that replaces him
Was Sarah Palin endorsing Rick Perry or Kay Bailey Hutchison’s opponent?
