Ok, everyone. Let's stick our fingers up in the air to see which way the 'poll' is blowing, so we can make up our minds on what we need to do.
"POLLS ARE FOR STRIPPERS AND SKIERS IN VAIL CO" - SP
Just a gut feeling. Of course it is just me!
Please don’t get me wrong. I think that she is admirable. I have seen her ripped apart by rabid liberals looking for blood.
I enjoyed a post here where she visited Reagan’s home. I am from Reaganland.
She wasn’t ready for primetime because she probably didn’t realize how vicious people would be.
ANY conservative is going to be torn apart by the media. Palin wasn’t ready. Maybe she is getting MORE experience ... but I’m still not comfortable with her as the candidate and I want to throw my support behind someone who can beat Obama.
I often looked at Palin as the guy who drew the flak away from others. Liberals have embarrassed themselves by being terrible, vicious and bloodthirsty regarding her. She exposed the hate.
I want someone who can beat Obama. He can’t get another four years where he has nothing to lose because he’s done enough in his first four years to damage the country.
IMO, the longer Palin strings people along, the more cred she loses.
Sorry. "FRIENDLY" - "CEASE FIRE! CEASE FIRE"!
If she does indeed run and get the nomination, we will see. Honestly, I DO like her, and would love to be proven wrong. If she runs and wins, I’ll be celebrating. I just don’t see it happening.
Thanks, FRiend!
Good points. we’re ready.
I agree.
Tell it to the Marines
She is not running. Said (not for the 1st time) “you don’t need a title.”
Ok then. You don’t. But it helps!
I watched the speech on CNN and switched to C-Span when it was over (Fox News did not show it but had pre-taped regular Saturday afternoon viewing -- maybe wanted to avoid potential legal problems with the FCC if she had announced during the broadcast).
She was very friendly with the crowd, asking names, where they came from all while signing programs, books, caps, t-shirts whatever. And did you notice the diversity wanting autographs? Some Blacks, Hispanics and Asians in the crowd with small children.
And she loses to Obama in double digits DESPITE having 100% name recognition.
“And again, your evidence for this is what?”
Evidence? Didn’t you see Sarah ascend to heaven at the end of her speech?
Personally, I don’t think the money is a big factor. She seems most convincingly serious about doing whatever she can for America. I have no doubt at all that Sarah Palin puts America before self, as the early American patriots did. She just believes she can serve America well — without running America. And if that is the case I accept her judgment on the matter.
Now on to the distasteful prospect of helping Perry’s campaign reach orbital altitude. :(
I don’t understand your point?
If you really doubt her intentions to run, there is more evidence that she ‘will’ run, than she ‘wont’. Anyone who follows her knows all the markers that she’s been laying down - that’s why she has the largest grassroots support of any of the declared or undeclared candidate. To her hard-core supporters, they know that she will run.
I will give you just a couple of notes to keep in mind:
1. Sarah Palin said that is she runs, it will not be the typical “campaign” full of “strategists” and “consultants”, heavy hitters and machine politicians. She said today she “will not be bought” (why would she say that if she doesn’t intend to run for office) So there’s your answer.
2. Sarah Palin has 95% name recognition, and the largest and most committed ground troops of any declared or undeclared candidate. So, there’s no need to “RAMP UP” and seek out the ground troops to initiate the campaign. Develop it yes, but initiate it - NO. Compare that with the rest of the field, and what do they have? She’s already WAY AHEAD of them in that regard.
Well, she can start raising money for her campaign for one. Two, she can start putting together signatures for the states that require thousands and thousands of signatures to get on the ballot. Three, she can start building a 50 state campaign infrastructure.
Tell me one benefit of waiting until the last minute. And keep in mind that "tweaking the media" is not a good reason.
I agree with your observation, what I found a bit surprizing was the number of Obama-youth age young ladies there looking for photos and autographs who were absolutely ON FIRE about Palin. Like she was Justin Beeber or something.
That seems a good sign.
Fascinating television. I watched the entire 45 minutes again, and was every bit as mesmerized as the first time through.
If she runs, she wins. No question in my mind whatsoever.
Palin is the most naturally talented Republican since Reagan.
I’d like to see her announce an hour or two before Bambie’s jobs speach
Department of Energy is energy as in nuclear.
You probably mean Department of Interior.
But since you have made it obvious that you have no idea what you're talking about, we can only hope that Sarah will ignore your advice.
