That singular quality is what will enable her to reach people's souls and hearts, and bring them to her side.

So where are all the knuckle heads that said she was going to endorse Perry today?
This sounded like a stump speech. She is talking the talk of a REAL conservative, with real conservative principles...There is only one person in the race at this moment in time that would fit SP’s thinking and that person is a women.
Unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) a lot of people just don't see or understand the campaign strategy Palin is employing.
It's really not rocket science. She's got 100% name recognition, which means that she doesn't have to campaign for as long as others who need to establish themselves, and get the face time required for the public to make a judgement about them.
While the others are in the middle of the field battling it out with each other in the demolition derby, she's outside the ring, taking on no damage and conserving hers and her supporters' resources for the real fight ahead.
In the meantime, because she's established alternative lines of communication with the public, she continues to get her message out to the people. Today's speech is an excellent example of that.
The demolition derby of the early primary is a fight that she is wise to stay out of. There is nothing for her to gain by being a part of it, and lots to lose. When she does step in, her opponents will all be broken and bloodied by the previous months of the contest, and some will have fallen by the wayside.
It's not costing her a thing, in terms of public relations or capital (human and otherwise) to stick it out until the last possible minute. Her supporters aren't going anywhere, and she doesn't need the big money donors and professional political operatives to gain all the benefits of running a winning campaign, while unannounced.
Brilliant strategy, if you ask me.

Waiting, waiting, waiting for the day she announces!
I’m real late to the party here and can’t begin to go thru all the comments, but I just got back from Indianola and messing with my camera. The electric moment as I’m sure has been well discussed was her presentation of “My Plan”. After hearing her, I can’t objectively see her endorsing anyone else at this juncture; she has to get in it; she has moved the ball so far down the field that they all have to play catch-up now to reach her vision. She’ll make a believer out of anyone.
Back in 2009, we paid our respects to God without wearing it on our sleeves... and nobody was in a mood to swear allegiance to a government gone mad. Its allegiance was the one in we were there to question. Representatives of three political parties showed up, and the Republican got booed. What people wanted to hear was what the Libertarians and Constitution Party folks had to say, and to hear what each other had to say. We were there because neither of the two major parties represented us.
Here's a reminder of what the Tea Party was when it was born.
Those people wouldn't recognize this event.
The mandate in this country is to return to the rule of law according to the Constitution, to end the spending and end the bailouts, and to end the special favors and open bribery that dominates Washington DC. Any faction in the GOP which thinks it is going to take this momentum in a different direction is going to lose a 25% chunk of the electorate that has just had it with the two parties acting as two wings of the same bird of prey.
At least Palin appears to be smarter than her supporters. She knew that the smart thing to be talking about was economic issues. In the first 1h 45m of that video only one other person mentioned even one economic issue (unemployment). Her problem is that being so closely associated with John McCain her credibility is suspect among these voters. (Thus my opinion is that she is ideally suited to be a party campaign chairman and not a candidate.)
Social conservatives need to understand that in this environment, economic conservatism is the winning hand. What better way to prevent abortion than cutting out the government subsidies for them on the basis that we simply can't afford it? It could not but be a more successful strategy than the past 40 years have been. Schools can't be controlled by Marxists if they are privatized, and kids might actually learn something. People will be motivated to work without an endless stream of welfare to support them, and so on.
Also, we don't have a choice. We have to deal with our budget situation, and not on a ten year plan, we need to deal with it now because there is a very real risk of imminent collapse, even before the election. If we do choose to ignore it then there will be a hard stop and the government will lose the ability to control events at all (which may very well end up being the cure for its excess).
We can't sustain what we've been doing, the debt-fueled binge in which we've been living. Every life saved from abortion... owes north of $183,000 on taking its first breath. The obscene practice of heaping debt upon the unborn is one of the most serious moral ills afflicting this country today, and the spending that allowing that practice allows enables the government to poke its nose in a whole lot of places it has no right to be, and doing things that it has no right to do... like running guns to Mexican drug cartels, or putting out $14 trillion of credit to a group of organizations that by any honest accounting were long ago failed institutions, or putting together a hideously invasive and expensive socialist health care scheme, or regulating energy production out of existence, or a million other things it does to mess with people for no good end.
The situation is immediate and critical. Even if Obama could be impeached swiftly, we'd just have Biden in the wings. We need to clamp down on spending in the House and put forth candidates who really understand the economics of the situation in order to fix it.
Thanks hon, you are right about being easy to just shoot a link to my friends, and I will. I was thinking more about a lot of people I know who have no computer. This is rural country and I know a lot of old people who will vote but never even thought of owning a computer. They do however have DVD players.

The strategy may frustrate the media and the pols who expect campaigns to be run corporately but she has no need or desire to run it that way. Look at the number of posts on the Palin threads and you know she will get the lion’s share of attention.
Why not save your ammo for the real battle and not sell yourself. She is rewriting the script and will win this in a landslide.

Sarah’s been running since 2009, and the only deadline I can see is the primary filing dates for the various states.....I’m in no hurry for her to declare..... her speeches tell all who’s listening that she is running. I’m enjoying her poking holes in the entire professional political class!

Exactly, why in the world would she use the line, “Here’s my plan” if she isn’t running? Does she have to hit you over the head with a 2x4 for you to get the hint?
The minute she says the line, I am entering the race; then her life is managed by the FEC as is every dime she spends. Now she can do exactly what she wants as a private citizen and when she says those words her army will be waiting.
