URBANDALE, Iowa (AP) — Sarah Palin is making a surprise appearance at a suburban Des Moines restaurant.

And she was greeted there Friday night with chants of "Run, Sarah, run!"

Hundreds of fans jammed into the Iowa Machine Shed, with the backroom of the farm-themed restaurant overflowing, as people from as far away as Texas, Florida and California strained for a glimpse of the former Alaska governor....

Thanks. I've seen the picture before, but couldn't remember where it was from.

Two friends of mine were at the Rally. Ray and Judy drove their trikes over from Ky to participate. They said it was an amazing thing.

Iowa is next door I wish I had time to leave but owning a store means I need to be close by, especially when I have teenagers working today...

I wish Sarah came to Illinois but there are so many hateful commies and union thugs that they'd just show up to harass her.

Wasnt yesterday supposed to be the big day? Did I miss the big announcement? Has that been moved again?

Well, SOL, yes, you missed something. Not sure what. I missed it too. I've been following this pretty closely for months now and Sarah never once did or said anything that committed her to announcing yesterday or today or any set time before the end of September.

Now the interesting thing is this. The Palin hive, whether here or FB or elsewhere, has had some collective moments of fevered speculation, some of it intentionally triggered by Rove et al, but cooler heads have always prevailed, and rather quickly. Yes, you find some outliers here and there, but I co-admin a big Palin FB group, and we do coordinate our expectations very effectively, even when we get hit with a wave of disinformation. It's got to be a source of frustration to our would-be manipulators that we are not playing along. Love social media.

So your comment is intriguing in that it suggests you really did miss the memo and are not aware of our response pattern, that you have seized on some misleading information somewhere and genuinely think the Palin hive has not yet adapted to the realities on the ground re timing of the announcement. Either that, or you are engaged in some sort of voluntary or involuntary selective perception, latching on to the outliers as if they represented the whole, perhaps because they support your narrative. Curious.

New members drawn to the site by President Sarah's election should quickly make up any shortfall from 'blowed up' freepers.

LMAO!

I'm just imagining PDSers literally expanding until they pop. Dang, that's funny.

Unfortunately, you can’t win the presidency with conservatives alone.

I don't think Sarah's going to have any trouble attracting votes from across the board.

they still haven't sent my DVD

Sounds like you've been waiting for a while. I'd contact SarahPac and find out what's up with that. Don't let 'em slack.

FYI: Insulting people is never a good way to convince them to come to you side. But obviously that’s all you guys have, so bring it on. I really don’t care.

I want to win this election. I believe 100% she cannot win the general election and that the left will tear her apart. You think it’s been bad? Wait until you see what they do if there is a thought she could be President. The Gay lobby alone will spend every dollar they have to destroy her. Independents will not vote for this woman. Believe it or not, the majority of the people in this election put the social issues second.

Great post!

IMHO,when you analyze the phenomenon that is Sarah Palin there just is no down side at all anywhere!

Worst case scenario is that she decides not to run and instead helps elect many many legislators both from the House and Senate and we have 4-8 years of freedom, democracy, an escape from feudalism, and Marxism to note a few of the coming changes.

Best case scenario is that she runs, brings a ton of legislators from both House along with her many skirt tails and we have 4-8 years of freedom, democracy, an escape from feudalism, and Marxism as in the above.

Either way we win they lose with Sarah Palin.

Guess I’ve just had more experience with these things. I’ve been to 2 Palin rallies, and pretty much every GOP presidential and VA gubernatorial/senatorial contender going back to Reagan. They even managed to make Dole rallies fairly electric as the election approached. Speeches have always been a few minutes, and the candidate moved on, leaving the supporters pumped up. Hopefully your experiences will improve.

It doesn’t matter what 200 people who show up say or do. She cannot and will not win.

Who wins the Super Bowl this year?

Just asking because you seem to have a time machine.

After watching her in Iowa today, I think you just may be right. The media is always swooning over what a great speaker obama is. Well I must say, Sarah Palin is a brilliant, motivational speaker with the ability to connect with regular folks. No teleprompter there.
