Perry 's Blunt Views in Books Get New Scrutiny as He Joins Race
NY Times ^ | Sept. 2, 2011 | Michael D Shear

Posted on 09/02/2011 6:43:37 PM PDT by Clairity

Rick Perry, the governor of Texas, believes that climate change is a "contrived, phony mess." The federal income tax was the "great milestone on the road to serfdom." And the Boy Scouts of America are under attack by "a radical homosexual movement."

Mr. Perry also thinks that senators should be chosen by legislatures, not the people. And he says that Social Security, the retirement program for the nation's elderly, is a "failure" enacted during a power grab called the New Deal and is "something we have been forced to accept."

When it comes to health care, Mr. Perry writes that President Obama's legislation on the subject was "the closest this country has ever come to outright socialism," largely ignoring the fact that Mr. Obama's plan relies heavily on existing private insurance companies, doctors and drug manufacturers.

The other huge talking point the Dems are throwing out is Romney has a better chance of beating Obama.

They are hoping the majority of the country that fear an Obama second term like the plague will buy this tripe and vote for a weaker and less principled candidate.

Somebody is going to have to pay for the freebies for Barry's Freeloaders. However, private insurance companies will be toast rather quickly. Doctors will all retire or go somewhere else. The drug manufacturers will all be gone.

Richard Epstein, a libertarian-oriented lawyer, discovered that Obamacare -- as claimed -- will allow you to keep your existing insurance policy...as long as that insurance carrier makes NO changes: IOW, if someone dies and the insurance carrier brings on a new policyholder to replace him or her, THAT would be considered "a change", making you now INELIGIBLE to keep that policy without also paying into the federal mandate. The whole thing is obviously a sham, with the intention of driving out private insurance providers so that government can step in as a single-payer, all the while declaring "See? We told you: private enterprise doesn't work."

“...What a coincidence...”

Yeah...wow!! What a coincidence...HE’S NORMAL!

That they’re amazed by it shows how f***king out of touch with normality the NYT is.

I seriously want my country back. Anyone else?
