United Nations peacekeepers in Ivory Coast enticed underage girls in a poor part of the West African nation to exchange sex for food, according to a United States Embassy cable released by WikiLeaks.
The cable written in January 2010 focuses on the behavior of Beninese peacekeepers stationed in the western town of Toulepleu, an area that has been at the crosshairs of the nation's 10-year-long conflict.

Those wascally “UN peacekeepers” just can’t keep their zippers zipped.
Piecekeepers...
This should surprise no one.
There is no hole more full of corruption than the UN.
Remember: If it starts with “UN” it funds 3rd world despots and that is about it.
Poor hungry UN Peacekeepers!
Just tried to access comments. They seem to ‘not exist’. LOL!
Indeed. The UN has quite a pattern of child sex.
I'd say it's time for a RICO prosecution for these peacekeepers and anyone who provided the food or funding!
That would be US.
“The UN has quite a pattern of child sex”
I agree. This has been a re-ocurring theme with the UN Soldiers.
“The cable written in January 2010 focuses on the behavior of Beninese peacekeepers stationed in the western town of Toulepleu, an area that has been at the crosshairs of the nation’s 10-year-long conflict. A random poll of 10 underage girls in Toulepleu by aid group Save The Children U.K. in 2009 found that eight performed sexual acts for Benin peacekeepers on a regular basis...”
Was it an online poll? Margin of error? Did they post the methodology used, the original data, and the statistical analysis, and have it evaluated in an independent peer-review journal?
Where in the known universe does such a statement pass for valid proof of anything at all, and why in the world would anyone in the rest of that universe be surprised or give a flying hoot about what is done by some guys from an obscure place called Benin in the midst of a ten year war in an obscure town called Toulepleu in 2009?
And don’t I have something better to do than respond to this relative non-event? This “news”?
Bill Clinton in charge there?
Food For Sex bigger than Oil For Food?
Well, I don’t know, let’s clear our heads for a moment and think this through. Isn’t that exactly what is going with all the single, dating couples going out for dinner that restaurants cater to, thrive on? The guy is no different than the UN personnel paying for dinner trading food for expectations of sex a little later. And actually the UN folks are more honest, up front about it , while the guy is much more deceitful, having to ply his date with alcohol to get her inhibitions down. It’s not as tawdry as the UN workers, unlike the guy, their probability of sex for food is 100%, the cosmopolitan city guy, considerdably less, but intent counts for a lot. The UN guys are just situated in a way where the odds are stacked in their favor, that’s all.
Well, certain UN-loving ones of us...
When they ain’t doing that they are helping to keep the Muzzies in power.
The Cosmopolitan city guy doing that to 11 year olds?
I will gladly support ANY candidate who will say that as President they will do everything possible to pull us out of that POS organization.
This goes contrary to historical u.n. peacekeeper practices.
Usually it’s just straight out rape.
The Blue Helmets strike again!
