"The interesting question is: What is it about this president that has stripped away the veneer of respect that normally accompanies the Office of the President? Why do Republicans think this president is unpresidential and should dare to request this kind of thing?
It strikes me that it could be the economic times, it could be that he won so big in 2008 or it could be, let's face it, the color of his skin. This is an extraordinary reaction to a normal sequence of events,"
MSNBC contributor Richard Wolffe said on "The Last Word."

I heard that the economy was making over $250,000 a year. Nobody needs that much money. Obama told me so.
Obama's just making sure that people don't feel jealous, looking at that mean old economy making too much profit.
middle aged white guys w/ the race card make those of us who aren't white laugh
The Kenyan lizard is the most divisive, partisan president ever. The MSM never seems to note that.
Wow.
Hoiw quickly it’s turned (Yet again) ito a race thing.
Don’t these clowns get that genetically, he’s way more white then black?
Sheesh.
Yep — because he’s black!
That’s why I dislike Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, John Kerry, Heath Shuler, Andrew Cuomo, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, David Axelrod, Dianne Feinstein, Luis Gutierrez, Al Gore, Charles Schumer, Bev Purdue, Rahm Emanuel, Hilary Clinton, Al Franken, John Edwards, Barbara Mikulski, Rod Blagojevich, Dennis Kucinich, Barbara Boxer, Dick Durbin, Kay Hagan, Patty Murray, Bernie Sanders, and Pete Stark.
Because they’re black.
The president calls Congress together for a crisis, an emergency, an attack...at least that’s how it’s been in the past.
It could be that his sitting on his tush on vacation sipping shirley temples and playing putt putt in richie rich lala land for the past fortnight that makes me think his speech before congress is not some kind of “fast developing emergency” that requires us all to get out our rifles and shotguns to protect the homeland.
It could be his announcement last month that he’ll get around to this jobs speech a month or so down the line that makes me think this is not some kind of emergency.
It could be that his preview yesterday of his jobs ideas makes me think this is another of his endlessly boring speeches and that this is really a campaign address, and that, too, makes me think this is not a national emergency.
And it could just be his using such a setting in the recent past to attack Paul Ryan in public so Totus could score political points is what makes me think this is not some kind of national emergency speech that must happen now.
And, simply, if this is a “national emergency” requiring him to address congress immediately, why wait? Why not tonight?
I wish it was worn-out! It seems to work, over and over again.
.I am so sick and tired of this race thing..... AHHHH, my FRiend. The race war has started already, and you won’t believe what’s next on their agenda.
I think you are absolutely correct.
But in the process, they are chasing away white independents who voted for Obama last time thinking he was a racial healer (boy, were they ever wrong). And this continual use of the race card has pretty much exhausted any supply of white guilt that was so important to Obama in 2008.
Furthermore, by Obama's exposure of how some black Americans REALLY hate whitey (Jeremiah Wright and Eric Holder and his people in NBP's come to mind), there is a new form of racism burgeoning in America...a racism not based on color but as a reaction toward racism expressed by Obama's people against whitey.
I have had more than one friend tell me recently that while they like black people and have black friends, Obama has certainly increased their level of suspicion of them (even of their friends...sad thing, that).
I am sure Obama knows full well what he is doing, but he is driving a wedge between the races that didn't previously exist (at least not to this great degree). And it will be "his people" who will suffer most from this wedge because he is destroying the goodwill those in productive society had toward them.
I wish it was worn-out! It seems to work, over and over again.
Only to their BRAINDEAD CONSTITUENTS. Most don’t buy that BS anymore.
Boy I wonder. Maybe it's this:
Or this:
I detest all those black folks like John Kerry, Barney Franks, Harry Reed, Nancy Pelosi, Rahm Emmanuel and the whole Kennedy clan. Obviously a racist.
Could just one of these apologists acknowledge how B.S. it was/is to try to pre empt the debates for something that could be done at any time. If it is so critical why not do it immediately. Why wait to block your opponents and try to steel their news cycle. The only thing that reeks more is the complete lack of intellectual integrity by all the leftists in discussing this.
I wonder if these people in their heart of hearts really believe the drivel they put out over and over again?
I am sure you are right...and I do hope I am ready for whatever it is....
Get used to this type of moronic statements, mac. the crybaby liar, daddy allows this because he has nothing to run on other than massive unemployment, massive debt, no plans and accepts no responsibility for anything that goes wrong but will not delay accepting praise for anything that goes right.
I must give him credit where credit is due like his ability to lie with a straight face, spend the tax payers money like a drunk sailor and when asked what he thinks he says “PRESENT”.
Oh, for Pete’s sake. This is getting beyond ridiculous.
A vast white skin conspiracy.
Sorry, no sale. We all remember the "respect" the DNC Media accorded to the previous occupant of the White House.
"Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having ones opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness."-- Mary Frances Berry Professor of American Social Thought and History, U. Penn.
