I liked this one:
President Obama's approval ratings are so low now, Kenyans are accusing him of being born in the United States.

There is no reason to give him permission to make a campaign speech in the Congress. “JUST SAY NO!”

The writer managed to work in the real reason for the joint house address request - halfway down the column.

None of the Republicans should show up for this joint session of Congress. It would be a show of no confidence.

Last I heard, they were saying, “Obama who?”
Love your line.
I guess he’s now Kenya’s least favorite son.

Obama is such a freaking rookie. How does he manage to cast a shadow of petty incompetence over everything so quickly? His speech hasn't been announced for a day, now, and he's already known the country over as a transparently maneuvering hack. Even the left is disgusted with his pathetic lack of finesse.
When Jay Carney was smirking and laughing about the whole scheduling issue, he gave the Republicans every ounce of ammo they needed to reschedule. He's an amateur that gives all of amateurism a bad name. Nobody, I mean nobody, thinks that Obama was being clever here. This is some 10th grade prank. Sophomoric at best. And he's the President? Now I know why my liberal co-workers won't even mention his name anymore. I'm embarrassed for them.

Joint sessions should be only if there is a national emergency,(actually not but) this country has been in a state of emergency since Jan. 20 2009.

Congress does not come back from the August recess until 6:30 PM and Obama wants them to all be seated for his 8 PM speech. Not going to happen, too many security concerns as well as timing. He had a couple of weeks to work through the logistics and handle this in private.

Headlines the following day Obama gave a speech and only half the people showed up. Oh, from the MSM it would be something like, "Partisan Republican obstinancy mars Congressional progress."
Last I heard, the president could address Congress only by invitation.
Actually, if it gets shoved down their their throat, the entire Republican block should wait for him to walk in, then one-by-one, stand and say, "I vote present."

“Obama is such a freaking rookie.” It makes me wonder if the Obama staff is as incompetent as their boss or if there is no ability to correct him when he is wrong. I am guessing that it is both...everyone is as incompetent as the president and there is NO one who is willing to confront him if he is making an error. Perhaps there is such worship of the Won that no one would dare challenge him, but at some point they might consider that there aren't a lot of job opportunities for absolute incompetence and being aligned with this regime won't look good if they stick with such a fool. I am guessing that anyone associated with the Obama administration in ten years will be regarded as a gullible, incompetent, ostracized fool.
