It’s a question of network coverage. Everybody but Fox will cover Obama.

My suggestion: push the debate back until the end of Obama’s speech. Then the coverage will be what the Republican candidates said about it, not the speech itself.

Can’t Obama wait until after the football season? He’s waited this long to show us his plan!

Boehner's letter was very well worded on why the speech could not be held that night. It made Obama look stupid.

But the larger point is Obama is acting like a King, thinking that the Congress serves the President at his discretion. The Congress is (supposed to be) the people's house. Good for Boehner.

Everyone needs to read the article. Boehner didn’t say go up against Football, but just slying recommended Thursday as a better day:

“Noting that the House will not be in session on Wednesday until 6:30 p.m., Boehner argued there just isn’t enough time to have the president in as a guest at 8 p.m. “With the significant amount of time—typically more than three hours—that is required to allow for a security sweep of the House chamber before receiving a president,” wrote Boehner, “it is my recommendation that your address be held on the following evening, when we can ensure there will be no parliamentary or logistical impediments that might detract from your remarks.””

Would have prefered a Boehner letter saying

"Dear POTUS, Must let you know we're booked on that night with a previous engagement. Shouldn't be a problem since your staff has already told everyone what you plan to say. Hope to catch up with you some other time though. Have a great day. John Boehner

P.S. We're not gonna raise taxes.

OUTSTANDING! Exactly what needed to happen.

Slapped him down as he was trying to upstage the Republican debate.

THE MAN WHO DESPISES AMERICA

OBAMA ADMIN INFILTRATED (as in they invited them in) BY MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD

Here's a link to the letter the speaker wrote to the President suggesting Thursday night, opening of the NFL season.

They can always put Obama on during halftime Maybe to attract an audience they can have Janet Jackson performing in the background complete with wardrobe malfunction. Then even I might tune in.
