Sarah Palin canceled her Saturday appearance at a tea party rally in Indianola, Iowa, a person close the former Alaska governor told The Wall Street Journal.
The person cited continual lying from event organizers at Tea Party of America, including a recent mixup over whether former U.S. Senate candidate Christine ODonnell of Delaware would also speak.
Ms. Palin is known for last-minute schedule changes that whipsaw supporters and media across the country. But the latest decision is puzzling. Ms. Palins speech at the rally was viewed as her most high-profile appearance of the summer, fueling speculation she was indeed plotting to run for the Republican presidential nomination.
Attendees were reportedly traveling from across the U.S. to attend the rally in Iowa, which holds the nations first nominating contest next year.
The former governor will now appear at a Friday event in Des Moines sponsored by the group Conservatives4Palin. It is currently scheduled for 8 p.m. at The Machine Shed Restaurant, though the location will probably have to be changed, the person close to Ms. Palin said. Ms. Palin is still scheduled to appear at a Tea Party Express tour stop Monday in New Hampshire.
Ms. Palin may still hold an event Saturday, the person said, though she has no firm plans. Its also possible she could still attend the Indianola tea party rally, the person said.
The former governors team decided to back out Tuesday night after rally organizers re-invited Ms. ODonnell to speak on stage. Organizers had booked Ms. ODonnell, who lost her 2010 bid for a U.S. Senate seat from Delaware, to speak but quickly withdrew the invitation in an effort to avoid controversy.

I haven’t heard Palin’s views on the subject. OTOH, I really haven’t seen Bruce push that as one of her core issues...
But it would be good to hear some clarification on the subject from Palin, if she does decide to enter the race.
I think most recognized O’Donell’s airheadedness....heck the democrates have Biden....those kind are unfortunately out there and what has to be contended with.
For lots of us fans, the peekaboo campaign has run its course.
Some may call it “teasing” since that is their nature to remain ignorant of what strategic planning is.
I doubt Perry will last the whole election cycle. Just long enough for the LSM to think they’ve thrown the big wrench in GOP chances. These water carriers are being set up.. and they are partially complicit. MHO Take it for what it is.
Everyone should be required to read The Art of War by Sun Tzu and “The 48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene before being allowed to call themselves “Conservative”
Why so many are so easily lead disgusts me. They are acting in the very way they condemn in Liberals. And a few are damn proud of it.
How true....good stuff!
with all due respect Sam...reacting to a WSJ feed his not quite the same as reacting to Politico
and she has fiddled a bit...all the “brilliance” aside
smart move woulda been to announce on top of Perry..right on top
imo
I am friendly with someone at top of TN GOP and I am told she has no ground troops here in advance yet..late in the game...usually they are out way before this...maybe she thinks she doesn’t need them..her internals...if she has them...may indicate TN in the bag.
I would expect her to bag the Cotton States easy except Texas...here I’m not sure...we have a large northern population now
This is going to be the ‘fun post of the day’ in my estimation. Thanks :)
Will enjoy reading the upcoming 1000+ comments.
PALIN'S SPEECH has NOT been CANCELLED
Two very good tweets from Scott and right on. These three have been ultra fair to Sarah....and should be the only three followed.

She has said in the past that she is not for gay marriage. Who knows about now.
That said, she has never stated her position on the DADT repeal, the one that she retweeted to Tammy Bruce is what we are left with. Laura Ingraham tried to get her opinion and it didn’t happen.
Oh, I know how you feel. It’s easy for us to let emotion and “what we’d like to see happen” override what we know intellectually will happen. I knew that all the polls were showing 0bama winning as well, but thought there was just no way it would really happen. The polls just *had* to be cooked, know what I mean?
Of course, we do need to distinguish between reputable polling houses, and the MSM “polls” put out by CBS/LA Times/NY Times/CNN, etc. and even Fox. THOSE polls genuinely do tend to be cooked, with all sorts of funny demographics slanted consistently toward the Dems. In 2008, Rasmussen and similar houses had 0bama winning by 3-4% (accurate), while MSM polls consistently had him up going into the home stretch by 10-12%.
So there is some room for saying that polls are biased and fake - when they’re MSM polls.
However, many, many FReepers want to assume that ALL polling is fake, biased, etc. so as to prevent unpleasant facts from intruding into their personal self-contained fact-spaces. Even though it has been shown that the professional pollsters are actually pretty on target most of the time.
I learned my lesson after 2008. A lot of FReepers didn’t.
Well it appears your still looking....another Freeper has said many times if you look at Palins moves from a military perspective...then you will understand. ...and he’s right.
There is no peekaboo campaign about it. She remains a force in the field which affects the whole....they never know her next move and can’t keep up with ones in play.
Ditto!
Something tells me you will be waiting by your computer for that big Facebook announcement of a run all election night, if need be.
