Fifteen people were arrested and the entrance to Playland was closed Tuesday afternoon after a dispute at the park involving religious dress.
Police from multiple departments from throughout Westchester County were called in for assistance.
The dispute broke out at about 2:30 p.m. near the park's entrance between members of the Muslim American Society of New York, according to Peter Tartaglia, deputy commissioner of Westchester County Parks. Fighting began when they were told they would be denied access to certain rides if they wore religious garb, Tartaglia said.
Two seasonal officers were injured while joining Westchester County Police who were trying to break up the scuffle, he said.

About a year or so ago I was reading a article about a Muslim woman who died at a go cart ride when her head wear got caught up in the wheels.
Who started fighting; who was arrested?
I posted a few weeks ago about how awful and aggressive these pigs were starting to act right here in the City. It's insufferable and they're doing what they do best: causing trouble and making life miserable.
OMG you owe me a keyboard too funny
Did her father then murder all his other daughters to restore the family honor?
One more thing....how many Playland’s in Mecca? How many amusement parks in he Middle East?
At least it seems that way...
At least it seems that way...
So, have them sign an agreement not to sue if their garb causes them harm on the rides. Mayhap several more of them will lose their lives by being stupid and a lesson learned.
Not trying to be harsh, just getting tired of people trying to be stupid on purpose.
And I bet her family sued the company for everything they had. Lesson learned? Nooooo, some people still have to have everything they want.
You think that piece of paper will stop a very expensive law suit???
it won’t. It might as well be toilet paper.
Maybe invent the Muslim Garb Terror Machine.
It reminds me of that story last year about some British amusement park sponsoring a Muslim Fun Day.
I still chuckle over that.
If you were a ride operator or the company that owned the park, do you believe that these people would not sue? No hold-harmless agreement is worth anything if they get hurt.
Nope, if the park felt it was dangerous, there was little else they could do.
Gee.....my pet pig and I have been on EVERY ride at that place....we’ve been on EVERY seat of EVERY ride in that park. He LOVES rides!!!
As a matter of fact, I used to take my pet pig’s brother there in the past. He recently passed away and I buried him at the park. He was a good pig.
