Yes, this is PPP, a Dem outfit, but it seems to follow the trend established by the Magellan Strategies poll from last week.

For nearly three decades, South Carolina has been a make-or-break state for Republican presidential candidates. None has become the national nominee without a victory – often a decisive one – in this first-in-the-South primary.

Call it a day, Mittens. Your support stops at New Hampshire, Michigan and maybe Utah.

If Perry wins the Iowa caucuses and then the South Carolina primary, it's pretty much a snowball going downhill.

The latest about Palin's Sept 2 or 3 entry into the race: she says Rove doesn't know what he's talking about. She's still thinking about it.

Good news if true. The sooner Bachmann is out the better. The same goes without saying for Romney, but I suppose he’ll stick around for a bit after winning NH and losing SC. But if Perry beats Bachmann in IA and SC, she will hopefully withdraw from her silly campaign.

Yes, this is PPP, a Dem outfit

They do tend to be in the ballpark... closer to the truth than the MSM polls are.

Now the died in the wool “Conservatives” here are proud to spout Democrat polls in support of their candidate. Wow.

Don’t forget folks, he’s not a RINO even if his people are perfectly comfortable tapping Democrat polls to support him.

SC has a far more bigger impact on GOP elections than NH. Crushing Mittens this hard is encouraging. It is fun to watch the Mittens fade.

Rhetorical question...but why would anybody south of the Mason/Dixon line even considering voting for Mitt Romney? He just oozes that city-slicker Yankee elitist that most Southerners detest.

A close first or second in Iowa, a close second in New Hampshire followed by a large victory in South Carolina and Perry will damned near run the table.

note: the only unknown is what happens if Palin gets in the race.

Anybody that believes any of these manufactured polls is simply naive.

There is no longer any science in political polling, has not been for years and years!

They are all filthy buggers with a agenda. It`s not even debatable. And for the record I have held this view years before I even heard of Sarah Palin

I would vote for Perry JUST to send a Texan to take over for Obummy.

As far as Perry being a RINO, who the Hell isn’t a RINO!?

I mean, seriously, the last republican I can remember is Ronald Reagan.

So, some say Perry is a RINO, others say he isn’t, but what I say is he’s a TEXAN, and OBAMA hates TEXANS, so I’m gonna send Boy Barry a TEXAN WITH A SOUTHERN ACCENT for the end of his first term!

Wow, people seem to be dropping Romney in droves once they got someone else they viewed as electable.

If the Republican Presidential race came down
to just Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, who would
you vote for?
Rick Perry ....................................................... 59%
Mitt Romney.................................................... 28%
Not sure .......................................................... 13%

The Perry/Romney thing reminds me of the Armstrong/Ullrich thing in the Tour de France. As long as Armstrong was in, Ullrich was never gonna do better than second. If Ullrich had just been born a few years earlier or later he probably would have won multiple tours, but it was not meant to be.

Perry’s entry in the race dashed Romney’s chances. He has all of Romneys strengths and a LOT more, without the baggage. i.e. nobody talks about “PerryCare”.

PPP had Doug Hoffman up by 19 points three days prior to the special election in NY23 two years ago.

PPP is the official pollster of Kos and has financial links to the Democratic Party. Only fools and people with agendas (e.g. Allahpundit at HA) cite PPP.

You stated the obvious about this poll and people are still doubting e pol calling it dem manufactured all because Palin is not in it or doing well. I recall many of these same polls that were not name called way back when Palin did well on one of them. The hypocrisy is so blatent.
