Former Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell has joined Sarah Palin as a speaker at a tea party rally this weekend in Iowa, one of the event's organizers told CNN.
A representative of O'Donnell, who is travelling the country to promote her book "Troublemaker," approached the rally's representatives Monday to ask if there was room for her to speak, Charlie Gruschow, national co-chairman of the Iowa-based Tea Party of America, said. And there was.
No other national leaders will be addressing the rally, Gruschow said. Palin is slated as the event's closing speaker on Saturday afternoon.
Palin's address is drawing interest from around the nation, according to Gruschow, who said he has not been given any additional information on what the former Alaska governor may discuss at the event.
"She will make a major statement at the event," Gruschow said last week. "Whether it be an announcement to run, not to run, or lay a marker in the sand for other candidates."
The rally is meant to help promote the tea party values of limited government, the importance of the Constitution and fiscal responsibility, event organizers have said.

I know of C4P, I am on the list, we don’t have a state coordinator and quiet frankly I am not impressed and it is looking like all hat and no cattle. Won’t answer my emails, request to meet with people to get something going. You tell me what the heck is going on, I am not happy with them at this point...
You were using Perot as an example. He started a third party. That’s what I was responding to.
If she does what what you’re describing...welcome to the Party.
Thankx TCM, I did need to explain myself.
I'm not about tossing her under the bus.
The ODS is strong with this one.
After Rove predicted she’d announce her candidacy on 2 or 3 September, the Palin site said this:
“Setting The Record Straight: Wrong & Misleading
Posted on August 23, 2011
Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24 hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.”
RT @RealClearScott: Charlie Gruschow (Tea Party of America co-founder) confirms Christine O’Donnell will not speak at Palin rally on Sat.

Looks like it’s a bogus story!
Apparently she was disinvited after the TP group received tons of e-mails criticizing the decision of these folks to use COD as a warm-up act for Palin.
Hahahaha....the organizers thought better too and dis-invited this looney. Thank god for the sake of the seriousness of the Tea Party movement.
“Christine ODonnell Wont Appear After All at Tea Party Rally” http://on.wsj.com/qrrbR1
Does this mean Christine is going to announce a run for President?
Oh, I am so sorry to hear that. Our Maryland group is doing quite well. Don’t forget that it is all volunteer, so that may explain the lack of email response. (I have had some issues along those lines here, as well.)
:)
Interesting point: If it were not for this site, I would not have gotten that at all, as I am in no way a “Star Wars” fan. But Yoda’s manner of speaking has been referenced here so many times that I got your joke.
Nope she was invited to attend never to speak.
Gee, it sounds more like the sponsoring group didn’t have its act together. How does that make COD a looney?
And where did the supposed emails come from?
The story makes the organizers look like amateurs, but then again, that’s the Tea Party and that’s OK with me.
But “the looney” took down Castle and Tom Ross here in DE, and no one was ever able to do that.
What’s your contribution been?
Christine, I think you’re a great gal, but this is Gov. Palin’s moment. For the moment, you are out, unfair as it may seem. Your time will come soon. Bob
Not so, already debunked, Palin will speak, O’Donnell will not. As per C4P.
Even their website lists no one for New Hampshire or South Carolina.
Maybe we should add "debunked" to the thread title.
