Rick Perry and Democratic challenger Bill White agree that while plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero have stirred controversy, they don't object to a local decision affirming the Islamic group's right to build it. A New York City planning commission voted this week to clear the way for a planned Islamic community center and mosque near the site of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Like on the old infamous drug war threads, there is no debate or discussion, just jump right in their faces and call them the liars and agitators they are when they invent facts.

Lots of good Americans were Democrats in the South in the 1980s and only a handful of people like you really have a problem with that.

You bet I have a problem with people who supported a party with a platform of abortion run by scum like Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd with members like Barney Frank and Gerry Studds.

btw...it's not 'spinning' to correct you, which is what I did.

And a mere majority would be 26, not 25. My bad.

I simply downgrade to match the imbecilic level of those like you so that I can speak your language.

No, I’m not really condescending, I just look down on you.

So...how does it feel to have something spread about you that may or may not true? Isn’t it just so cool to twist the truth about people?

But hey, why would it bother you so much about what you think Perry said about gay marriage if it wasn’t so important to you...not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Governor Perry’s plan introduced

http://governor.state.tx.us/news/press-release/4238/

Governor Perry accepts the futility of his plan being fully implemented, and is resigned to the project being dead in the water

How in the hell could I believe in the Lost Cause? I'm a Northerner.

The South deserved everything it got from General Sherman among others.

I don't hate Mitt Perry, I hate liberalism. And much of what he stands for, were it done by a liberal would be labeled 'liberalism' by all here. So I hate his record of advocating for liberal causes. I don't hate the man.

No they built one 5 miles away. The government shut it down after it went into operation. The much adored ACLU fought to reopen it and won Rick Pery was still a Democrat at that time, much like he is now. It eventually got shutdown again anyways.

None of us here are going to sign on to the re-introduction of slavery in one state based on the Tenth Amendment clause. None of us would agree with all Christians being the focus of some form of persecution because another state wanted to impose something like that.

Especialy since the first would violate the 13th Amendment and the latter would violate Section 1 of the 14th. Those two changed the rules, as Constitutional Amendments do, to exclude any such measure in a State.

Yeah, a lot of maturity shown in that post.

As I said, I've apparently given Texans too much credit over the years.

I understand what you’re saying. But politicians are allowed to have personal opinions, which Perry stated as being against the mosque, and Constitutional contraints in which they abide. Rick Perry had no more business telling NYC what to do about that block than NYC has telling Texas abortion has to be allowed in our state.

I would say that it’s more a reflection of his attitude toward Muslims and Islam. Anyone who doesn’t fully realize the danger that they pose the American freedom should not be in a position of authority.
