Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a commanding lead in the 2012 GOP presidential race, and that wont likely change if tea party favorite Sarah Palin decides to run, a new CNN/ORC International poll indicates....The polls data show that, for now, Mr. Perry is the clear favorite of tea party supporters. Ms. Palin won support from 10% of voters, leaving her in third place just ahead of Mrs. Bachmann.

Then we have a real problem. Perry is just as damaged as you claim Palin is. Once his actions come out that are contrary to his election time rhetoric, he will have problems.

Actually, no she didn’t. She stated if Romney got the nod, she’d stump for him based on ‘Anybody but Obama’. But she stated clearly, on Greta I believe, that there wasn’t anyone in the race right now that she’s excited over- including Perry. Of course, her tweeting an article critical of his spending record should bring some of the Perry folks back down to earth.

I cant remember exactly what she said, but it was something I took to mean she wasnt ready to throw her support behind anyone in the field yet. And why would she since she hasnt ruled out a run herself yet? I consider myself a fairly good people reader. When Sarah made that statement, I could see that she was saying what she had to say to keep the curtain drawn on her strategy.
It's a tough balancing act, but she's played it masterfully, so far.

Sarah has publicly announced that she is NOT going to run for the AZ Senate seat. No how, no way, not going to happen.Would you have a link to support that? Thanks.

This is exactly what I predicted repeatedly what the MSM/Rep Est pollsters would do. They are full of crap, they are pushing Perry just as they pushed Bachmann.
This is really nothing new, the same pollsters said Kerry would beat Bush in 2004
Sarah just has to ignore them, and not fall for their spin.
Governor Palin can win the nomination and the White House with out ever leading in a MSM poll. Highly unlikely that she will lead any polls...the fix is in.
I am on record here of holding these views years before I ever heard of Gov Palin.

I hope she stays out. We dont need a nasty primary fight. Perry is going to get the nomination and no use muddying the waters like Huckabee did back in 2000 to sell books and get a TV gig.If Sarah gets in, why won't perry get out, like you say, we don't need a nasty primary fight.
Sarah is going to get the nomination and no use muddying the waters like Huckabee did back in 2000 {you sure it was 2000} to sell books and get a TV gig.
My version is just as calm and reasonable as your version, but I'm not too sure about huckelberry in 2000, I thought it was 1996.

I get a hundred dollars for every post that calls CNN leftists for reporting anything bad about Palin but if this very CNN poll were reporting Palin would beat anybody it would be breaking news and posted as real factual news and NOT called MSM or leftist or communist news.I will now go read this thread and count my money.
George Jetson may be announcing a run in Oct or Nov or maybe Dec. He will be everyone because I said so.

Sorry, Perry is not close to being as damaged as Palin has been. She has been the butt of liberal jokes for almost four years--some of it self imposed--but mostly out of context smears and ridicule by RINOs and liberals across the nation. Perry hasn't even come close to that level of attack, therefore he is not "as damaged as I claim Palin is."
Your RPDS is showing.

Yeah, just being a loyal Republican I guess, sigh...I’ll give her a pass on McCain, not much she could do about the situation.
Perry has been a surprise. How does Sarah shape big differences from him that are to her advantage?
He’s seen as religous, conservative (to most) and experienced at handling a large executive position and creating jobs.
She can out-conservative him, and hit him hard on border control, but that’s about it. The primaries will be about jobs, presentation and electability.
Of course, we don’t even know if she’s going to run anyway.

They've spent over a decade and a hundred million dollars trying to dig up dirt on Perry.

I;'m not a 'loyal Republican'. Karl Rove is a 'loyal Republican'. George W. Bush is a 'loyal Republican'. I'm a conservative who left the Republican Party back in 2005 (after 30+ years) when Bush and the complicit RINOs in the congress were spending us into oblivion. What really did it for me though was when Bush, ignoring the overwhelming opposition to his proposed amnesty said, "See ya at the bill signin'." Republicans blow.
No one knows what Palin will do, of course, but one thing is certain, if she does jump in things will get very interesting.

Even if Palin gets into the race, she will not get the nomination. The nominee will either be Romney or Perry. Most likely Perry. If Perry or Romney wins the nomination, Marco Rubio would be a very good choice for VP. This would be a very strong ticket and would kick the $hit out of an Obama/Biden ticket. (IMHO)
