Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a commanding lead in the 2012 GOP presidential race, and that wont likely change if tea party favorite Sarah Palin decides to run, a new CNN/ORC International poll indicates....The polls data show that, for now, Mr. Perry is the clear favorite of tea party supporters. Ms. Palin won support from 10% of voters, leaving her in third place just ahead of Mrs. Bachmann.

It confounds me, too!
I admit, I think we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with Sarah Palin. But, if for some reason, she is not our nominee in 2012, I will vote for whomever is. We cannot risk another term of Zero’s ilk.
Maybe some are turned off of her because of her supporters’ zeal in defending her against attacks. Maybe we are quick to refute mis-information about her. It is natural, though, in light of the blatent onslaught to destroy her for the last 3 years before she even gets a chance to run her own campaign and present her record to the people. She was hamstrung by McCain’s people and the media was not given the usual notebooks on her record that is usual for introducing a candidate. McCain’s campaign did her a terrible disservice, in part because they wanted her to be a surprise. It is really hard to go back and try to undo the damage. It is possible, and I think once Palin starts campaigning she will show people that she is a well-qualified, common-sense unifier who will appeal to conservatives, independents, and Reagan Democrats.
I just spent some time doing a search for that statement with NO results. Instead I found these comments;
Palin spoke about Perry on both legs of her bus tour. On the first leg in Baltimore, she praised the Texas governor, saying she thought he would make a "fine candidate" and the two "have a lot in common."
Palin added, "I really like him."
The next week she defended Perry and his headline-grabbing attack on the Federal Reserve in which he said that it would be "almost treasonous" for Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke to increase the money supply before the 2012 election.
"More power to Rick Perry for calling it like he saw it," Palin said on Fox News last week. "And you know, he used some of that rascal type of rhetoric that he uses there in Texas and evidently the president took some issue to that".
Unlike other political friendships, their relationship actually dates back to before the last election, although Palin did back Perry in his gubernatorial primary last year against Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas. She declared her support in a letter to Texas GOP women, saying her choice stays "true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction. I like that about him: He doesn't care which way the wind blows, he acts on his beliefs."
Palin added in the letter that Perry, "walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks to his guns, and you know how I feel about guns!"
And when she went to Texas to campaign for her "good friend Rick Perry" in the primary, she told the story of how Perry was the last one to wish her well before giving birth to her son, Trig, who she said was "almost born in Texas" because she was at an oil and gas conference hosted by Perry in Dallas when she went into labor.
"I finally handed Rick the mic and I said, 'You know, I think I got to go.' And he said -- he's teasing me as I'm hustling out the door, finding an exit so I can get on an airplane and get home and he says, 'Yeah, I know you're pregnant, but what are you going to do? Go and have your baby now?'
"And I mumbled as I walked out, 'Uh huh.' And I did, that evening," Palin told the crowd before Perry gave Palin a certificate making her an "honorary Texan."
Palin has steadily teased and left the door open to getting into the race, but she has also consistently said that if there was someone else who got in that represented her values and what she would bring to the race she, would not get in.
I took the liberty of pinging those who replied to your comment and might think it true......
As it shouldb..off the table........it’s a non-issue too many have squawked about...probably cause they have nothing else to make issue of.
You people can kiss my *ss with your polls!
No one will beat Palin for the Republican Nomination.
Reagan got in in November, Palin can do the same.
Whatever. I heard what I heard.
Now that would be something to read!
(If you don't understand what I'm driving at, please recall that liberals live in a universe of words. If an "expert" said Stalin was for laissez-faire, and liberals could make political capital out of it, they'd parrot it as if it were fact.)
Palin did not say she would ‘stump’ for Romney. At the Iowa fair a reporter asked her if she would vote for him if he was the nominee. She said, “Yes, I would, ABO - anybody but Obama.”
I see nothing here but the standard Palin get along chats she has with many....none of which says she would support Perry. Having common ground does not mean one supports a Candidate.
Even I see things in Perry which are admirable....but his handling Texas and how he goes about meeting his asperations for Texas is more than concerning....alot more.
[Whatever. I heard what I heard.]
You saw someone else post questionable info and you repeat it.
I heard Palin say she did not see any candidate she would support....I thought it was on her bus tour?
re: She also quit midway through her term on the Oil and Gas Commission. What was her excuse for that?
The reason for that:
She went through appropriate channels, as chairman of the ethics committee, and was unable to get the CBC to do anything about it. She resigned so that she could come at them as an outsider. She was able to accomplish the tasks and the offenders are now wearing orange jumpsuits.
Well Hell thats the gospel truth then aint it?
Heck yea, and Kerry won before he lost. LMAO
Sarah Palin said:
“I really like him”
“He acts on his beliefs”
“He walks the walk of a true conservative”
“He sticks to his guns”
“He doesn’t care which way the wind blows”.
“he would make a “fine candidate”.
“he stays “true to conservative principles even when others think the party needs to go a different direction. I like that about him: He doesn’t care which way the wind blows, he acts on his beliefs.”
How many others has she said that about?
What I posted was from an ABC web source, not exactly one that would root for Perry.....or Palin. I could find nothing in my search for the ‘other’ comment and I really searched.
You are waaaay too emotionally invested in her approval. Please get help.
Where she compared her executive experience to the one of Rick Perry:
Asked to compare her record to Perrys, Palin noted that Alaskas Constitution provides for a very, very strong governors office, ....which she said is not the case in Texas.
Or where she suggested Perry flip flopped:
“I was quite sure that he wasnt going to run because he was adamant until I think about four months ago that he wasnt going to run, so it surprised me”:
How about when she was asked who she might support if it comes down to Romney vs. Perry:
“I dont see that happening”
Those are clearly not statements she would make about someone she was about to endorse.
Ummm, ok.
I don't see the words vote in there.
Um, John McCain.
