Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a commanding lead in the 2012 GOP presidential race, and that wont likely change if tea party favorite Sarah Palin decides to run, a new CNN/ORC International poll indicates....The polls data show that, for now, Mr. Perry is the clear favorite of tea party supporters. Ms. Palin won support from 10% of voters, leaving her in third place just ahead of Mrs. Bachmann.

Hmmmm....CNN wants Perry, which would imply that Republicans should nominate Palin...
Palin endorsed McLame
and sat silent as McLame bashed the Tea Party.
By your logic, wouldnt that mean Palin is a RINO?
Time will tell...but she’s certainly been making a huge impact on our country without holding or running for office. Not to mention putting fear and trembling in the Democrates spine....especially Obamas.
Then Trump shook them up for a time...and the media ran with it....now perry’s dancing the Palin dance as well. They all copy her. Even Obama with his Darth bus.
Amazing how candidates copy her....stunning really.
You aren’t running for the highest office of the free world. There is a big difference. What you do in your life doesn’t affect me or anyone outside your inner circle.
She quit but that doesn’t necessarily mean she should be given a free pass if she wants to run for POTUS.
She also quit midway through her term on the Oil and Gas Commission. What was her excuse for that?
No, I don't have a link, but you can find the exact quote if you hunt for it.
I've seen Palin quoted as saying that there isn't anyone in the race at this time who she'd be willing to throw her support behind. The last time was in response to a question she was asked by Greta Van Susteren on Fox, as far as I know.
I don't know how anyone can construe such a statement as being "divisive". Plenty of other nationally known figures have been asked the same question, and have given the same answer.
She's also on record as having said that she hasn't yet decided whether to run or not. Given that statement, who can reasonably expect her to voice support for any current candidate? They could well be her opponents in a few weeks.
She’s not running yet....that arguement needs to be reserved after she’s in....so when did Palin say she was running for Pres?
The end date for ethics filings related to her term as governor past more than a month ago.
Now her devotees are saying she'll wait yet another month, missing three or four debates scheduled in Sept. if she does. None of the arguments they make is sensible. She wants to avoid a hostile press? Why wait? She wants to avoid direct comparison? Why? How does that instill confidence?
It's all very odd unless she is only waiting to see if Perry implodes and no strong candidate emerges before time really has run out to meet the early caucus and primary deadlines.
That’s right. Because morals and ethics only apply to positions of high power. *shakes head*
...”especially in the primary. We may have no choice in the ABO general”......
I’m not about to vote for another Rhino....for Pres.... and watch him hand the election to Obama as McCain did.....not going to happen.
No, by my logic, it shows Palin isn’t always right- which the majority of her supporters know. Now, I challenge you to show me a conservative who has never endorsed a RINO/liberal.
In a way, yes. HR sucks.
Her *reason* was because no appropriate punishment was handed down to those who she found guilty of ethics violations. She wanted no part of the corruption.
For someone who criticizes Palin so much, you know so little about her. I suggest you watch 'The Undefeated'. You will find your answers there.
Well, if those numbers hold in the next poll of Texas voters, that may be a concern. We’ll have to see! Somehow I think they may have moved a bit since Perry announced.
Exactly right. And that’s where Palin and I part ways. When she said she’d stump for Romney IF he wins the nomination and qualified it with ‘Anybody but Obama’, she lost me. The lesser of two evils is not a strategy for success or conservatism.
A lot can and will happen in 18 months. And I don’t trust Obama one bit.
There’s a certain contingent of Palin supporters that remind of nothing so much as the nerdy kid who carries the prom queen’s books every day but can’t get it through his head she will break his heart.
Because Perry needs to get out of Texas and get into national politics. Size of state?? What difference does that make. It depends on who is the front runner for the nomination. If it is Sarah and she asks Perry to be VP, he’d go for it in a New York minute.
BTW, is a New York minute different from a Texas minute? I think it is.
Well she didn’t loose me by stating that...though I cringed.
I’m not in the crowd that wants ‘anybody’ but Obama....and if that pits me against Sarah and others who think so...well that’s what elections are...we get to choose.
So let’s say Rhino Romeny or Perry gets it....what will I do? That depends on who is left in the race then. I will be voting conservative.
MCCain did me in from ever going half measures again as I watched him hand the Presidency to obama without a fight at all....I detest McCain as much as Obama.
This will be the last election I will be fighting in....it needs to count well.
Rather like Perrynites do for Perry I would expect...only he'll not break the heart....he'll continue to string them along til it's to late to get out of the marriage. Most Texans on FR are married to Perry.
Well...she’s no longer their Governor now is she? Say what they will today. But a 88% favorable report while she served cannot be overlooked.
