Federal judge blocks Ala. illegal immigration law
AP ^ | August 29, 2011

A federal judge temporarily blocked enforcement of Alabama's new law cracking down on illegal immigration, ruling Monday that she needed more time to decide whether the law opposed by the Obama administration, church leaders and immigrant-rights groups is constitutional.

The brief order by U.S. District Judge Sharon L. Blackburn means the law won't take effect as scheduled on Thursday. The ruling was cheered by opponents who have compared the law to old Jim Crow-era statutes against racial integration.

But Blackburn didn't address whether the law is constitutional, and she could still let all or parts of the law take effect later. The judge said she will issue a longer ruling by Sept. 28.

It angers me beyond comprehension that people would advocate for laws to be broken instead of being followed.

Yes, me as well. But God did say there would come a time such as we are seeing. Laws would continue being made but without any justice to follow for breaking them.

In Mexico its a felony for a foreigner to participate in a political protest. They are much tougher on immigrants than we are.

When amnesty does get passed, I’m predicting some form of it will get made official, there’s going to be...Chaos. Huge turnout for Rat candidates, more illegals flooding in, the country will be lost completely. There might even be a little war.

....even when it's past the doors will swing open all the more as there are no authorities, govenment or courts, who are willing to prosecute and carry out sentences when they are given.

We are an open country and the world knows all our laws about immigration have no weight when it comes down to inforcing them....because our courts don't.

If that is the case in less than 15 years there will be NO United States...I hope you all have visas to emigrate to the Republic of Texas or the New Confederacy as WE WILL keep a very close eye on our borders and immigration...

Will my birth certificate showing me as a native-born Texan suffice?

The governor needs to have the judge arrested and charged with sedition and let the liars/lawyers have at it in court.Sounds silly huh, almost as silly as the judges ruling against the people.

I can almost understand where a simple law may be declared unconstitutional, but what about prop.8 in CA which was an amemdment to the state constitution. How did they rule that their OWN constitution was “unconstitutional”?

California courts couldn't - that is why they found a gay federal judge to do it for them.

...and they dare to prosecute...we don't let alone inforce our laws of immigration. Thus we are a fully open country.

IMO as long as foreigners know, and they do, that even if caught they can extend their time here indefinately thru our courts, who are more than willing to let them remain by playing that game.

We’ve watched our prosperity be taken away, we’ve watched our nations soul get darker and uglier, we’ve let a small minority cause us to live in fear, we’ve watched the incremental erosion of our freedom and now we don’t even feel it when it’s not incremental anymore.

I don’t want it to come to revolution but there’s too many people aching under mounting oppression. The bills are coming due, this election might be the last chance America has to avert a bloody mess.

immigrant-rights groups

Immigrants have the same rights as anyone else, provided they are here legally.

Which means this should read ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS and they of course forfeit some of their rights when they trespass.

Look at England. Entire cities ceded to immigrants who have brought nothing in the way of skills, knowledge or work ethic.

When will the states get enough guts to tell the federal judge where to stick their ruling? A state has the right and responsibility to protect their citizens from invasion, which is what the illegals are doing.

When are we going to get a Governor that has the BALLS to tell the FEDs to GFYS and ignore their ruling?

Kind of over the top there aren't you? The stay just came out a few hours ago...governor hasn't had a chance to comment, and wouldn't be appropriate for him to take a confrontational stand until after the final ruling comes down.

From the way your comment was worded I assumed you were from Alabama. Much to my surprise you are from Taxachusetts. Go rail at your own governor and give ours a chance to do his job...after all he DID sign the bill into law.

The sum result of all of this damnable liberal bullsh*t is that US Citizenship will be utterly meaningless.

Oh, it will have a meaning all right...when you try to leave the country with your assets you will find out that those assets - and yourself - are the property of the US Government.

George H.W. Bush must have been one of the most easily
duped presidents. A lot of his appointees ended up being
obstructionist liberals. Even his son ,George II, tried
to sneak in a libtard judge Harriet Miers.

Your governor isn’t going to do anything. He might try to pass some lamer version of the law (which will get stopped int he court).

The G_o_l knows that’s what’s going to happen, I know it, and you know it. If your governor does stand up, he’ll be the first governor in the country to do so since George Wallace.

"That’s like putting the chevy up on blocks in your front yard, then charging everyone in the neighborhood to watch it rust."

Nah. It's worse than that.

It's like someone broke into your house (and is still inside) and a judge says he/she can stay inside and use your stuff while she (the judge) thinks about it.

And, if you complain, liberals and other slugs will call you racist and other names.

Real Americans no longer have a claim to their country...it belongs to all the people of the WORLD! (We're just earlier immigrants with no more rights than these (illegal)immigrants.)
