Man, how miserable is Michelle Obama?
About 2½ years into her ceremonial stint as first lady, Mrs. Obama seems to have had quite enough of the gig. More to the point, she doesn’t seem to have ever warmed to the second-fiddle slot as other first ladies before her did. And even more than that, she doesn’t seem all that happy with the man she married 19 years ago.
A look at just this past month is illuminating. On Aug. 9, the first lady sneaked out of Washington and flew aboard a government plane to Corvallis, Ore. On board, dozens of staffers, Secret Service agents, Mrs. Obama’s mother and one of the Obamas’ daughters (we never did find out who). No husband. Her office never announced the trip; the news was broken by Oregon’s Register-Guard newspaper.
“She’s on a private, family trip to meet with her brother and his family,” aide Semonti Stephens said.
But security for the first lady locked down a ritzy country club neighborhood. “We couldn’t go out and get our mail without first telling them our names,” a neighbor told the Register-Guard.
Of course, the optics were terrible. Just as the markets were melting down — and millions of Americans settled in to enjoy a “staycation” — the first lady was off on vacation, again. Why wouldn’t her brother — even his whole family — just slip into Washington for a couple nights at the White House during the summer break?
But things got really weird this month when the first family went on yet another vacation, this time a 10-day break on Martha’s Vineyard......

I doubt it or there would be a lot of Freepers mysteriously disappearing, getting IRS audits or in jail. Obammer does not stand for any criticism.

I remember that about two weeks after Obama’s immaculation, they went to an elementary school because they “were bored in the White House” A little girl told moochelle that She’d like to be First Lady one day and was told that, “It doesn’t pay very much”.
Not much of an inspiration even then.
That’s an even bet even with Vegas odds.
We are doomed.
They lie even when they don't have to. So, yes, they'll tell tales; but they'll be tall ones, every one.
Even Hillary put on a ‘good face’ and left for vacation with Willie after his public confession, to her public humiliation. Michelle may not like the job, but she sure do like its perks.
Really...how can you tell if someone is on those drugs? I find it interesting that some people can tell if another person is on drugs of some kind. What symptoms is Obam showing that makes people think this?
I ask this because he's always been high on himself so what makes him different now?
I think she is suffering from low self-esteem. She has been given a pass at every step in her life. She knows she hasn’t earned it. She kept telling herself that she would be happy when she got to the next level. But now she is as high as she can go, and she still doesn’t have self-esteem.
Unless she accomplishes something on her own, something she can truly be proud of, she will never be happy. Money and position cannot buy happiness.
Not to worry. Obummer has Hilary waiting in the wings.
That's what it looks like Obama is experiencing. Just look at his delivery lately.

Well, given what we now know about this Soetero guy, this comment may have been made in another context....heh heh heh.
But can't people appear as that when they know opinions of them are negative? They withdraw and sometimes even isolate themselves. Then if called on to do a job at hand, in this case Obama speaking, they do seem detached....there but not there, or going thru the motions.
I watched his Hurrican video today....required a serious tone so he "put on" the face for that. He was not speaking TO the people IMO, he was speaking over them in order to "get it done" from his check list for the day.
You may very well be right about the drugs. I just don't know how people can see it so easily...but then I've not knowingly seen people drugged much at all.
They have her calendar on the White House web site.. I looked at it the other day... not a single entry in it for the next several months...nada...zip.

She was doing Obama more harm than good...and certainly had no clue how a first lady should conduct herself......and though she knows now she does it her way nonetheless.. I remember Michelle saying when she realized Obama could be Pres., and this during an interview, she told them with a surprised voice..."I could be First Lady".....always the conversations with her about Obama she points back to herself. I also think she wore the pants in the family....but in coming to the Whithouse found a line of men and woman ahead of her where it concerned Obam....so this too has impacted her anger and bitterness....grows deeper for she resents that.

To be honest, this was not a very well-written piece and I can’t believe the newspaper printed it. There was no substance, no sources, no quotes—just a bunch of innuendo. What’s the big deal with her listening to her ipod in the limo? Is it rude? Probably. It makes a bad photo, but it’s not evidence of a rift or anything like that.
The traveling arrangements are baffling though. I thought that security might figure into their plans, but isn’t Air Force One the most secure plane in the world?
