He comes across as detached, almost vacant at times. The main thing these drugs do is alleviate depression and anxiety by increasing serotonin levels. But in some cases, although depression and anxiety are relieved, the user also experiences a type of catharsis, where emotions are diminished, sometimes greatly.

That's what it looks like Obama is experiencing. Just look at his delivery lately.

But can't people appear as that when they know opinions of them are negative? They withdraw and sometimes even isolate themselves. Then if called on to do a job at hand, in this case Obama speaking, they do seem detached....there but not there, or going thru the motions.

I watched his Hurrican video today....required a serious tone so he "put on" the face for that. He was not speaking TO the people IMO, he was speaking over them in order to "get it done" from his check list for the day.

You may very well be right about the drugs. I just don't know how people can see it so easily...but then I've not knowingly seen people drugged much at all.
