I lay a lot of the meteorologic hype at Joe Bastardi’s door and he’s a friend, not a foe. It’s high stakes to go out on a limb with the weather, that’s why so many picnics are rained out with a 40% probability of showers.

It is no secret that obama has been looking for a reason for another round of 'quantitative easing' that will pass Congress, well this is it.

Also, libtards are trying to find more proof of climate change so they can increase the size and power of big government and do more to destroy capitalism.

The real problem with the storm that wasn’t...

Is when the real thing comes along folks won’t believe it and the result will be Katrina like.

I personally believe they were looking for an Obama Katrina moment and so far, this is the first decent hurricane of his presidency so the media wanted to hype it up as much as possible before campaign season started.

I believe the headlines were already written praising his leadership and highlighting how under Obama, few lives were lost, things went smoothly, etc. Unlike his predecessor and Katrina.. yadda, yadda, yadda.

It fizzling out and the public almost mocking the news reports seems to have ruined this opportunity.

There is one word I have noticed that they are mentioning over and over again....”INFRASTRUCTURE”, especially in our biggest lib state New York. Isn’t that Odummys favorite word?

Looks like they are using this as an excuse to bolster Odummys demands for more money to fix our infrastructure. Don’t let a good crisis go to waste.

Even so-called conservative FOX is shilling for Obama by excusing him for the recession due to the weather.

The hype has two engines:

The cable channels’ motive for hype, is financial.

When their ratings, driven by out-hyping their competition, rise - the rates they can charge for commercials likewise increase. Hype is money.

For Obama, lefties were hoping upon hope he would look “leaderly”. Now he looks once again, like Michael Dukakis. But even more obviously desperate for a photo op.

The entire liberal propaganda operation looks very foolish.

From ratings to make-goods on Christie and Bloomberg asleep at the storm last winter, there are lots of individual agendas as well.

Though I’m sure Obama would have liked to milk Irene for all she’s worth, I don’t think the public will go along with much of it.

Oh there are lots of aspects to this.

First we have the way cool camera shots of things blowing around. That’s fun. My better half is a weather junkie and checks in with the weather channel for at least an hour a day when something like this comes up.

You have multiple politicians who can grandstand before it his, i.e. Bloomburg, Christie, Obama, etc.

It gives a nice reason for Obama to cut that disaster of a vacation short and get something else on the news.

Under don’t waste a crisis, we see Obama being able to juxtapose his response to Bush’s hyped Katrina response. Obama gets to be portrayed as calm, reasonable and competent.

Reporters get to beat up on Republicans with “Surely funding for FEMA should be 100%, right?”

As an aside, did anyone see Chris Wallace with Ron Paul this morning? What a dumb_ _ _. Props to Ron Paul for refusing to play along. He made a great point about the government making things worse by insuring people to build homes that they have to be evacuated from. It made me think, “Maybe Ron Paul wouldn’t be so bad if congress were to check his craziness” then I got a hold of myself.

So they were all ready with their stories then...... Irene disappointed.

We’ve got Jose coming soon. They can only hope for the best/worst I suppose.

Is this not a hoot?

FOX news has continued to yammer about this for 3 days. And I rarely watch TV and less now.

One would think the “storm” was going to reach the Rocky Mountains.

Dumberg said those who didn’t leave designated areas as ruled by him broke the law.

Oh really? His law?

the bouy reports, air speed reports all indicated it was not a hurricane for at least the last 36 hours. The lamestream media kept reporting it was a hurricane.

FIRST TIME EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD A HURRICANE HIT LAND AND DIDN’T SLOW DOWN.

TWICE.

The media hype is embarassing.

And the forecasters too.

They were so far off it’s not even funny. How is that possible? Other than politics.

They forecast whole beaches would disappear...
the worst hit, 50-60 miles inland...

1. Americans are addicted to drama.

2. The storm was a potential threat to the media saturated NE corridor.

Balderdash! The media is hyping Irene for ratings.

The media has no interest in the truth. Their only interest is pumping up their ratings. If they can convince you that a catastrophic natural disaster is about to occur, they know you’ll tune in.
