New Republican presidential frontrunner Rick Perry has in one shot managed to blast both the Obama and Bush administrations on national security policy. According to Perry, former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who ran the Pentagon during both the final years of George W. Bush and the first years of Barack Obama, gave Communist China an alarming long-term military advantage by cancelling purchases of the new F-22 fighter.
We made some huge errors in the course of the last three-to-five years from the standpoint of militarily not continuing to fund R&D with our military, Perry charged during an appearance on Laura Ingrahams talk radio program on Thursday. For instance, we had a next-generation fighter aircraft that was on the books to be developed. And the then-secretary of Defense through, I suppose, direction by this president, Obama said, you know, were gonna cut back. And thats gonna be one of the cutbacks.

Let us help to expand his list on 10 reasons he likes Rick Perry.
I fear that the POS Imelt will somehow provide the chins with the F-136 engine.
I hope you are right.
Thanks Shield, listening now as I missed it earlier this week. He’s giving a really good interview. Liked his comments on the TX education system and loved his “Washington is a seedy place” quote.
You can twist stuff all day but the fact is Texas is 38% hispanic and this place was once Mexico.
Perry acknowledging that constituency does not make him open borders.
And the truth is, it is the federal Governments job to control borders.
Why should Texans bear the tax burden of controlling 1250 mi of border?
That said, I wonder about Perry's recent finding religion, as it were. I just read today that he just had Texas send the fedgov a $350 million invoice for services rendered to illegals. What do you make of that?
In the end, however, I would much rather see us spend $100 billion on new jet fighters than feeding more generations of mud-people who will only breed more of the same.
Sounds like Perry is your guy then.
The alternate to this head line, “Perry says bush and gates did not spend enough money and calls for more spending.”
Government auditors spent the past five years examining all federal programs and found that 22 percent of themcosting taxpayers a total of $123 billion annuallyfail to show any positive impact on the populations they serve. Washington spends $25 billion annually maintaining unused or vacant federal properties.

More than $326 million in pork will go to the 1.3 million citizens of Hawaiia per capita rate of $251.78. On the other hand, the 544,270 fine people of Wyoming will receive only $12.28 per person. Take a guess which state has a senator who is chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and which state has nary a member on the committee.
The refusal of many federal employees to fly coach costs taxpayers $146 million annually in flight upgrades.
The state of Washington sent $1 food-stamp checks to 250,000 households in order to raise state caseload figures and trigger $43 million in additional federal funds.

And just wait 'till you read the part where he talks about the spending of the Republicans in the middle of last decade!
ALternate headline if you are an idiot or a liar. Just because he wants us to have air supremacy (which you seem to be against), doesn’t mean he wants more spending overall.
Good for Gov. Perry.
None of which has one damn thing to do with calling for more spending. Which would have been the end game of more F22:
Perry is a veteran Air Force pilot who gave five years of his life in the service of his country.
Well at least Perry has something to say. Anybody heard from Newt lately?
So who are you supporting for POTUS next year? I must confess I’m not seeing anyone who really motivates me a whole lot.
Thanks.
You guys are looking like FOOLS hijacking every single Perry thread.
Grow Up!
