Guest hosting for Chris Matthews on Tuesday, MSNBC's Chris Jansing derided Rick Perry, wondering if the Republican presidential candidate is "too far off even for the GOP?"
Jansing, who normally hosts supposedly straight news coverage for the cable network, attempted to generate controversy over statements Perry made on civil rights. A MSNBC graphic for the segment, mocked, "I have a scheme."
According to Jansing, Perry's problem answer came in "comparing" the civil rights to cutting corporate tax rates. Here's Perry's full answer:
RICK PERRY: America's gone a long way from the standpoint of civil rights and thank God we have. I mean, we've gone from a country that's made great strides in issues of civil rights. I think we all can be proud of that.
And as we go forward, America needs to be about freedom. It needs to be about freedom from over taxation, freedom from over-litigation, freedom from over-regulation. And Americans, regardless of social and economic background is, they need to know that they can come to America and you got a chance to have any dream come true, because the economic climate is going to be improved
An indignant Jansing huffed, "So, does Perry really believe African-Americans' struggle for civil rights is comparable to the GOP's fight for lower taxes?"
Talking to Alex Wagner of the liberal Huffington Post, she slammed, "Is this ignorance?...Is this insensitivity?"
Piling on Republican, Jansing marveled, "I mean, when you look at this series of quotes from [Perry's] book, some of which he's backing off on, you have to sit back as a political analyst and say, is he too far off even for the GOP?"
Jansing is supposed to be a straight forward journalist. But, apparently, guest-hosting Hardball turns MSNBC's reporters into just another liberal anchor.

done. Thanks.
Perry an extremist? That’s laughable.
However, when you’re a leftist and you’re losing, and you can’t really come up with a single accomplishment to run on, all you have is to paint your (likely) opponent as an “extremist.” It’s Page 3 in the Democrat Playbook.
Thanks for the name "chump" I will add that to the list of names St. Sarah supporters have called Perry supporters.
By the way, Palin has not announced and Perry supporters want to beat Obama. I want Bachman, Gingrich, Mitt and Cain supporters to back Perry as well as those who like Palin. Of course the fringe will sit home anyway. Grovel? you have derailed.
I know the reason she gave but the more I think about it the more I disagree with her reasoning. She signed a bad ethics law that was used to beat her. Instead of working on a better solution she quit. It was a bad law and she should have called a special session to address it so that it can’t happen again. She quit, signed book and tv deals, and went the celebrity route instead.
Bottom line is that she will have to deal with the rabid left even more as POTUS and if she can’t take the heat when it gets hot then what are we supposed to expect from her?
You forgot open borders...........
It is funny.
I didn’t put any words in anyone’s mouth.
“Unfortunately, she’s not running now — if ever”
Those aren’t “words in Sarah’s mouth”, or even my opinion. Those are simple FACTS.
FACT #1: Sarah Palin is not now running for President.
FACT #2: Sarah Palin may not run for president, ever.
In fact, if you DON’T acknowledge that she may not run, then it is YOU who is putting words in her mouth! She said she was undecided — if you assert that she HAS decided, then you are calling Sarah a liar! I don’t think she likes to be called a liar — do you?
The madness oozes from Chris Matthews. They probably should have gotten the guest host a different chair. eewww!
Matthews seems to be losing his mind.
Actually, that poster said that she is not running NOW - if ever, which is true. Palin herself said she has not made up her mind yet. Since she has not announced yet, she is NOT running yet. True statement. She hasn’t decided yet, so IF is perfectly accurate.
Is it seeping into his chair?
She did not say she is not running!! Did she? Because some demand to know now doesn’t make she’s not running now or ever a true statement! That was a real weak wiggle in an attempt to make what is not true, true.
She did not say she IS running, did she? NOPE, so thus far she is not running, which is exactly what that poster said. You are being deliberately obtuse and anal about it. But it is funny to watch!
Your link is a pure opinion piece, which doesn’t seem backed up by the video (below). It’s more of that women vs. men that the liberal media likes to stir up. Here’s the video, of that presser:

Sarah is put off by the “your first press conference” remarks of a reporter.
I love this video from March on the way women are treated by the press:

“I need NOW’s defense like a fish needs a bicycle!”
Nevertheless, the Governors supported each other in 2010. There’s video of the Feb 7 2010 rally for Governor Perry at youtube.

You know, Anita would be a vast improvement over our current FLOTUS.
And Americans, regardless of social and economic background is, they need to know that they can come to America and you got a chance to have any dream come true, because the economic climate is going to be improved
