"Sarah from Alaska" (Inside insight for today / tell me "she's not running")
The Factor with Bill O'Reilly ^ | Nov. 7, 2009 | Scott Conroy / Shushannah Walshe

Posted on 08/23/2011 4:27:44 PM PDT by The Bronze Titan

To gleam an insight as to what Sarah's intentions are now, take a brief look at this short clip from 2009 from two 'insiders' to Sarah's 2008 campaign who co-wrote the book "Sarah from Alaska":

Scott Conroy writes for Real Clear Politics and is always a good source for Palin info.

Shushannah Walshe is a reporter for ABC news.

She may have more committed supporters than me, but personally I am getting a little weary of the sustained tease.

Note my Tag Line, and know that I intend to follow through on that.

my prediction remains the same.

Unfortunately, you never preface it that way when you say it. It's going to come back to bite you.

While there is still much we dont' know about the Governor's plans of this we can be sure...

There is NO ONE in the current field who will keep her from running.

So, who is sustaining that tease, Sarah, or all the talking heads? For me, I’m quite content to wait for word from her, one way or the other.

Sarah IS running. She has given the appropriate signs to her supporters that want to look for them.

Consider the inverse: IF she was not running, being an above board human being that she is, she would say: “I’m Not Running”.

If you can still say that after Labor Day Weekend, then I'll believe you. I will go on record and say she IS.

Oh, that’s right. As opposed to all other posters on FR whose posts are assumed to be their opinions, you always take mine to be Holy Writ.

I understand you needing someone to guide you, but really, you elevate me much higher than necessary.

And nothing is going to bite anything. You MIGHT get to say “nanny nanny boo boo you were wrong!” That’s it. And I might get to say the same with you (I am pretty sure the latter will end up being the situation).

The difference is if someone opines differently from me, I may argue the basis for that opinion but I don’t call them names (well, not a lot anyway).

Who will be bitten now? Not I.

But I do find you very funny and I appreciate the humor you inadvertently inject into so many lives.

Fair enough. You think she is, I (and many others) think she is not.

The tea leaves don’t point in that direction but in the end it is a toss-up for all.

I was hoping for a stronger showing at the debate and him getting his name, face and message out in front of the electorate a lot more.

You can only stay enclosed in the pelaton for so long before the leaders break from the pack (as Perry is doing now).

But I will hold out hope for a while...

Keep the faith. I think you know how I feel about Mr. Cain. In spite of what the Perry folks think, this is a marathon, not a sprint. Perry is going to slip up and come back to the pack. His anal exam is only starting. My hope should Governor Palin not enter the race is that Mr. Cain can continue to maintain a presence and catch fire at the right time.

Just a variation of the ‘she’s not qualified’ theme.

OK, then please tell us all, who is the sure winner you have in mind? Failure to answer means your guy is Ron Paul.

Palin already is my President just as Obama, never was.

I ally myself with her character, ideas, and direction, not the approval of obnoxious smarta**es.

I like Cain for the same reasons, and I think a Palin/Cain ticket would be outstanding.

And yet I am on the right side of history.

Really? Are you quite sure? Or are you simply using old markers in a new situation?

Because if you are underestimating her power for innovation, then you are not in control of enough variables to even know where to begin your probability calculation. Put another way, your guess starts out being no better than ours, and goes downhill from there, to the extent you are misunderstanding who she is.

My dad shared some interesting wisdom with me years ago. He pointed out that many of the most stunning military victories were based on innovation, and not just incremental innovation, but major leap innovation. For example, something we all take for granted now, the aircraft carrier, fundamentally altered the pacific theatre in WWII, by creating an ability to project air power at much greater distances than had ever been considered possible.

However, the problem (and the advantage) with innovation is that the other side often doesn't grasp or doesn't believe in the innovation, and is expecting the usual rules to apply. The American Revolutionary War is a good example of this. The Brits came at us in brave, tall-standing, numerous rows of red jackets, all out in the open, and were summarily mowed down in equally large numbers because we shot at them from behind every available rock and tree and bush. Their sense of how things should be and would be was governed by how they had always been, not how they could be in the hands of a creative personality.

Palin is just such a creative personality. In my extended family I have lived among bona fide geniuses, and she reminds me of them. She is an innovator, and has repeatedly proven her ability to outflank opponents trapped by outdated rules of engagement. It’s a free country, and you may bet as you wish, but I think you ignore her power to surprise you at your peril. I only wish to save you future embarrassment.

Peace,

SR
