SarahPAC released the following statement:
Three years ago DC pundits predicted with glee the demise of Sarah Palin’s political career. This past weekend their tune changed, citing false information that she has made a decision and set a date regarding a future campaign. Any professional pundit claiming to have “inside information” regarding Governor Palin’s personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public. These are the same tired establishment political games that fuel the 24-hour news cycle and that all Americans will hopefully reject in 2012, and this is more of the “politics-as-usual” that Sarah Palin has fought against throughout her career.
PS – Kudos to CNN for setting the record straight and including Governor Palin’s own words.
Here is an excerpt from the CNN article by Peter Hamby referenced above:
Here she is, in her own words:
Q: When is a good time? Do you have a timeline?
Palin: I have said that that August/September timeframe is important for logistical and legal reasons to jump in there, but
Q: So by next month?
Palin: I think that just practically speaking that has to be kind of a drop dead time. Also, in fairness to supporters, who are standing on the timeline, and this is what I have told Todd over and over again, I don’t want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along, asking supporters, ‘Oh don’t just jump in there on someone else’s bandwagon because I may jump in, so hold off a little bit.’ That is not fair to them. After another month or two goes by, they need to know who it is that they can jump behind. Now more than ever, everybody has got to get involved in this 2012 election. They need to get out there and campaign for their chosen candidates, its all the more reason to hurry up and decide.
A few moments later, there was this exchange:
Q: Will you know by the next time you are here in Iowa whether you will be in, over Labor Day?
Palin: I doubt it. By the next time I am here by September 3? I don’t know if within the next couple of weeks I will be ready for an announcement or not.
Q: So the end of September is no longer a viable deadline?
Palin: No, he was asking about my next visit here on September 3, if I would be ready for an announcement September 3. And I said I don’t know if I would be ready by September 3.
Q: So the end of September would still be your timetable?
Palin: That is still a possibility for a timetable. Yes, definitely.
No, thanks.
Really? lol
I'm Gargantua, and I like Sarah Palin for President in 2012. I also post alot of pro-Palin articles to FreeRepublic, many of which I write myself.
It's a pleasure to meet you.
;^)
If Palin decides to stay out, I may give Perry another look, but right now he’s in third place behind Cain in my copy book. The only reason he’s not in Fourth is I am pretty sure Col. West is not going to jump in.
Perry’s got a slight need over Bachmann who I think would make a marvelous cabinet pick, but I just do not feel confident about as POTUS. (Sorry, the migraine thing does count. I’m subject to migraines myself so I know how debilitating they can be — and medication is not always effective.)
The ONLY thing that Perry has going for him that makes me smile at this stage is the fact that the trial lawyers hate him.
As for the rest...
*shrug*
I’ve already voted twice each for #41 and #43, and for VP Palin in ‘08. I’m voting TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVE for #45, which prayerfully will be Sarah Palin.
They could use this photoshop. Dunno who made this but saw it on another FR thread. Had me laughing for hours.

Bush2 the big government amnesty king?
No thanks.
I didn’t read the article. You were speaking of dogs.
Things like that happen when you are unable to let things go.
I had no idea what you were talking about.
I will help you. Go ping someone else.
Enjoy your day.
ROTFLMAO!!!

WATCH HER FIGHT LIKE A GIRL! "Mr. _resident, GAME ON!" April 16, 2011 - Madison, WI |
I look forward to her campaign. She likes tough competetion but looking at the current declared field its plain that they are nothing special.
Ha ha ha.
Many have wished that they could have but stood among men and women of such timeless greatness to have had the chance to perhaps be counted among that august number.
Well, that chance is upon us again. A chance to transcend our mere mortality to blazing immortality with nothing more required other than the willingness to share in the belief of the rightness of our cause... To be a team of modern-day midwives attending the rebirth of The American Dream.
Jim, you're like the Ben Franklin of the 21st Century. You deserve to know that I think of you when I read these verses. Hell, I thought of you when I wrote 'em.
Sincerely.
;^\
Lindy? Wrong? Perish the thought!
I wouldn’t hold by breath waiting for anything out of her resembling an acknowledgement of her mistakes. She’s about 6 days into avoiding an apology for wrongly accusing me of “threatening people” here and has yet to offer up proof.
She must love being wrong since she does it so often. ;)
You wrote that, Gargantua? Didn’t I read that yesterday? Oh my goodness! I wiped tears. You’re an amazing and awesome writer! May God always bless and keep you both and all wonderful patriot FReepers here.
With all respect to JimRob, I agree. If a Perry supporter (which I am not, I want DeMint) comments on a Palin thread, they are a troll, but it sure isn’t the case when Palin’s minions bash Perry on his threads. This double standard has me wondering if FR should rename itself to the Palin fan club, because dissenting views are becoming increasingly discouraged.
Just waking up and landed here. Sounds like my adult kids going at it over politics in the kitchen(we are a divided family). Way too early for this.
LLS
It would be like me posting Post #9 at the top of Perry threads.
