The crossover donors are employed by a large number of banks, private equity firms and hedge-fund companies, including Credit Suisse, The Blackstone Group, Stanwich Group and Goldman Sachs.
One of the donors is Joshua Harris of Apollo Management, who recently bought the Philadelphia 76ers. Others include Oscar Schafer of OSS Capital Management, David Solomon of Goldman Sachs, Barry Sternlight with the Starwood Capital Group and David Blitzer of the Blackstone Group.
One Wall Street executive, who requested anonymity, said he and some of his colleagues feel betrayed by Obama...
"...Everybody I speak to is on the same boat — disappointment," said the source, who contributed to Obama three years ago and is now backing Romney.
The executive said he and others on Wall Street have taken exception to Obama's rhetoric about the wealthy, especially because the president has asked rich donors to fork over $35,800 to his reelection efforts.
"It's not healthy for rich people to feel maligned," the executive said.

I would respectfully disagree. As much as it makes me want to vomit just at the mere mention, the fact is Clinton was far less dangerous to this nation than Obama.......& that’s saying something!
Clinton was about Clinton. Obama is actually trying to transform this nation into a socialist state. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Clinton was a dream compared to Obama. Romney would be similar to Clinton. A slick politician, rather than an ideologue.

For all the saddened people here who now feel we will have a Romney nominee because some Wall Street folk are throwing their donations his way instead of to Obama, think about it.. These were the OBAMA donors to begin with! These were not donations that had gone to Republican politicians but Democrat political donations which are now going to the most-like-Obama-but-not-actually-Obama Republican they can find, Romney.
The typical Republican donors will be there, and the conservative donors will probably step up even more with a good, electable conservative candidate.
I don’t have any info on Sarah Palin who will most likely have good support if she runs.
As for Rick Perry, take a look at just one state, California, and the conservative-minded donors who have already stepped up to the plate:

An invitation has just landed in the in-boxes of California conservatives inviting them to a conference call with Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Tuesday to discuss his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination and invite their participation — particularly in the all-important realm of fundraising.
The invitation is impressive for the big-name California political and business leaders listed on it, testament to the fast work of Perry’s new but nimble California campaign supporters.

The list also includes Shawn Steel, the former chairman of the state Republican party and his wife Michelle Park Steele, vice chair of the state Board of Equalization.
The head of California’s Independent oil producer’s organization, Rock Zierman was one of the potential donors meeting with Perry last month at a hotel in Century City. He had been impressed with the governor, his energy and job creation record.

I realize that he tried, but he quickly adjusted after losing the ‘94 election and moved a bit more to the center. Obama has done no such thing.
Clinton was much smarter than Obama is. In addition to being a rabid ideologue, Obama is also incompetent. A potent mix.
I plan to stay as far away from Romney as possible.

Any money not going to Obama is good thing even if it’s going to Romney.
