By Tuesday evening, then, I was half-convinced that Palin was stealthily moving toward an announcement. Then on Friday, she released a two-minute online video about her Iowa trip that everyone -- even the wizards who had previously been certain she wasn't running -- agreed looked like an honest-to-goodness campaign ad. The signals seemed clear enough that Karl Rove (who is clearly no Palin fanboy) declared she now "looks like a candidate, not a celebrity" and expressed his belief that Palin will get into the race. But if a certified Beltway elitist like Rove is now convinced she's running, wouldn't Palin be obliged to prove him wrong by not running? So I called up McCormick to ask if she believed that an announcement was in the works for the September 3 "Restoring America" rally, and the Iowa for Palin volunteer wasn't sure. "People think if [Palin's speech] doesn't say, 'Hi, I'm Sarah Palin, I'm running for president,' it will be not a good deal. But I really think she's going to give a monster speech."
The only two people who really know what Palin is planning, McCormick said, are Sarah and Todd. The rest of us will just have to wait until she announces. But her Iowa organizers are still convinced Palin is getting in -- a matter of "when," not "if," they say. Others may doubt, but the True Believers still believe.

I think she's waiting for us as well. Are we really ready to carry the ball, not just for her but forever?
Perry will be there to the end.
Romney only hope is that Palin and Perry split the conservative vote and he able to steal the nomination.
A very real possibility.
+++++++++++++
I’m worried about that too. But not as much as I was before that national poll came out with Perry leading Romney by 29% to 18%. If Palin gets in she will take some of the Perry support but she will just gobble up the Bachmann vote. And as the minor players fall away very few of those votes are going to go to Romney.
If and when Sarah declares, you can bet your bippy I’ll be 100% behind her. The MSM and Dems are terrified of her (and Perry) and that tells me something. Sarah knows who and what she is, and knows exactly what she’d do if elected.
Palin/Perry can and would defeat our Dear Leader.

If she does, those of us that are for Sarah will jump in with both feet.
If she doesn't, we will grit our teeth, curse a bit, then make our second pick, and move on with our life.
Sarah Palin is my favorite candidate for President of the United States, she is not my savior nor my reason for being.
I'm sick of the Sarah haters and especially the weak kneed half-backers that begin every screed by saying, "I love Sarah...BUT..."
I want to see Sarah Palin as the next POTUS.
My life, nor my journey through eternity will not end if she doesn't become the President.
We need Palin, badly right now. Go Mama Grizzly!
The 3rd will be a major-step date for Palin, but certainly not do or die. You’re falling for Rove’s spin if you draw that conclusion.
After meeting with Singleton and McCormick and trailing Palin at the State Fair, this guy must be the single most clueless reporter in America.
He seems neither aware of it or embarrassed by it, however. But click through to his whining a week earlier and he’s actually indignant that Palin doesn’t deem to give him regular scoops.
If it truly comes to the point where Perry and Palin are splitting the Conservative vote, to the point it assures Romney the nomination?
Perry will then have to consider dropping out of the race, pretty simple math!
“What are you talking about , my post makes the same point you do”
Maybe I misinterpreted this part of your post:
“one realizes a lot of ballot stuffing went on”
That sounds to me as if you think Paul’s supporters resorted to illegal measures to skew the results. “Ballot stuffing” generally is a reference to illegal acts. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ballot_stuffing
I was simply saying I think Paul got his vote count fair and square through out-hustling the opposition, as opposed to rigging the results.
I do not worry about Sarah. Sarah is the most competent person in politics today.
Everyone is clamoring for her announcement and she is waiting.
Sarah studied Hillary’s campaign in the 2008 election and has learned by Hillary’s mistakes.
Hillary was the front runner, she took out all of the competition and she went on the road campaigning.
Obama did not enter the race until late. By this time Hillary had blown through her massive funds and Obama, who actually didn’t have as much, was fresh and funded to reach the end.
Hillary should have won the election but didn’t.
Not because she wasn’t as popular as Obama, she was more popular, but because people had been over exposed to her, her resources were dwindling and she was getting to the point of burn-out.
Sarah has learned from Hillary’s mistakes and is cautiously not over extending herself.
Don’t worry. Mrs. Palin will be the next President of the United States.
That was fantastic, I pray that she runs for POTUS.
“He is not a Republican. He is a Libertarian.”
The same could have been said of Barry Goldwater. I admired and supported many of his positions, but he was a disaster from the standpoint of the Republican Party. It may be that no Republican could have won in 1964 given LBJ’s claim he was carrying on the legacy of Kennedy. But the size of the landslide I think both emboldened Johnson to pursue a radical Great Society agenda and gave him massive majorities in Congress with which to enact such sweeping change. Imagine how much better off the country would have been without Medicare, Medicaid, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Elementary and Secondary Education Act (which laid the groundwork for the Department of Education), Department of Transportation, the “War” on Poverty (which spent $5T without budging the total number of poor in America) etc.
Had Republicans nominated a more mainstream candidate, I think the election would have been much closer and this would have undercut Johnson’s ability to do as much damage as he did.
Thank you very much. I am hopeful that it is at least close to it.
Here's a bit more - in detail - the way I see it....
Mrs. Palin is remaining quiet......she is waiting....she (and she alone)knows her battle plan....she knows her timing.....she is learning....studying the opposition....guarding the "cubs"....waiting quietly with an occasional "roar" (like the comments at the Iowa State Fair).....reconnoitering the challengers from within and the enemies from without.....studying weaknesses....building and conserving her own strength....endlessly practicing....reading...honing her skills.....waiting.....waiting.....
This war has not yet begun. What has been seen of the other candidates to date has been nothing but minor and irrelevant skirmishing. Candidates in...candidates out....candidates winning....candidates losing.....candidates saying silly things.....candidates saying cogent, insightful things .candidates being personally attacked by the msm (including fox) and the intelligencia....candidates being ignored by the msm (including fox).....candidates being declared "unelectable", candidates being hailed as the stain eradicators......
It is a very, very long way yet to November, 2012. There is no need to rush. In her mind's eye, Mrs. Palin smiles knowingly and remembers the words of Napolean, "Never interupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." and General Patton, "Our basic plan of operation is to advance and to keep on advancing regardless of whether we have to go over, under, or through the enemy. We are going to go through him like crap through a goose; like shit through a tin horn!"
When she arrives, you can count on total war. She has learned how to fight. She has been through this before.....all the way to election day. She does not spin; she does not back away from principles; she means exactly what she says...and says exactly what she means. She builds a base of support because of who and what she is....not because of who or what she panders to.
Patience.....patience....
She trusts us; we must trust her....
So....wait for it!
And keep the faith....
Paul is, of course, a bit of a joke.
But to compare him to Alan Keyes is a stretch...that guy is truly in a class by himself! Not even Ron Paul deserves to be compared to Alan Keyes!
In the Iowa straw poll one can vote multible times if he is willing to pay the thirty dollars...also the candidate is perfectly within their rights to pay for the voters fee...straw polls actually mean very little as is evidenced by their lacki of results leading to a candidates election. They really are just a way for Iowa to have an event!!!
Yes it is!
Mrs. Palin should stick to what she does very well, and that is Kingmaking.
Remember there were only three networks and non of them was bipartisan.
