He didnt pass it through Congress, even though he had overwhelming majorities for almost two years, because there were not enough votes. He also didnt do it by regulation, because that would take time and be subject to public comment and other messy procedures.
Instead, Obama simply has issued an internal policy not to deport illegal aliens other than those who have committed some other serious crime.
Janet Napolitano tried to justify the change based on the need to focus on violent criminals and couched the change in the language of prosecutorial discretion. Those excuses were flat out pretexts; each of the justifications has existed for years. This is simply part of Obamas 2012 campaign, as he hopes to gain votes in states with large Hispanic populations.

:-)
Don`t worry, the GOP/RINO party will get right on that, umm, after a nice long vacation. They`ll make sure Obummer can`t lesgislate from the executive by defunding his program and passing specific laws disallowing Obummer to continue his unconstitutional activities.
Yup, bank on it/sarc off
Florida news effect...Haiti?
Lake, I know you’re right. But Hussein has proven himself to be a mocker of the law. He merely has to issue an executive order and his fellators in the media and the bureaucracy will rush to REGISTER these illegal voters to vote, with a free Barack Obama campaign button.
I believe he’d do it—if the Republicans and the media allow his lawlessness to continue, what will stop him?
If he gets away with this, you better hold your nose for what’s next .
Does anyone know what legal right he has to do this? He is President, not King or dictator. Not yet anyway.
There are already alot of dead people from holding their nose...and their breath, given the already sheer amount of sh*t the AnnointedIdiot has gotten away with..... =.=
Can’t, I’ll get banned....
He’s working on destroying our country “under the radar”.
As egregious as the impact of this on immigration policy may be, the underlying principle should chill every American to the bone. The assumption that, by executive fiat, a president can simply make his own law especially in an area that is clearly under Congress' purview, is nothing short of dictatorial.
Having tasted that sort of power, we have to ask a couple of additional questions:
1. What else will Obama and his minions seek to implement in this fashion? 2. What will they do to hold on to their power when it is time to pass the baton?
"Stroke of the pen. Law of the Land. Kinda cool." Paul Begala
Didn’t Clinton/Gore do the same thing for votes that took them over the top? I do recall this strategery in the past...
Have any of our GOP presidential contenders said anything in response?
I have not heard a thing.
*ahem*
Here, let me speak for you.
"I, the Borax Queen, would love to watch our dear reader take the bravery and true grit he showed when he personally took down Osama in hand to hand combat, and displaying that kind of macho command of all things by going to the border and preventing illegals from coming through. Besides, it's the fault of the republican congress for not passing amnesty when they had the chance."
There. You can try that for a while.....I think that's a pretty nice way of saying it don't you?
:-)
“Hes working on destroying our country under the radar.”
It seems pretty overt to me.
Well, technically people like us were looking; it’s just that Bambi and DHS and the DOJ don’t give a $hit. They do what they want and say, “Stop us if you can.”
He didn’t pass it. He ordered the executive branch to implement it without Congress and a bill.
He is dictator, not a president.
This order is patently un-Constitutional as Congress is authorized to regulate immigration, not the White House.
Does anyone know if ICE agents take an oath to uphold the law? Just wondering if we can at least hold their feet to the fire?
LOL and gagging....
bump.
Bull crap. Everyone here is saying he is doing nothing on vacation. hummmmm.
