Perry: Proposed Federal Building Codes Will Hurt Job Creation, Home Prices, Homebuilders and Homeowners
PEMBROKE, NH Texas Gov. Rick Perry today took his presidential campaign to Epoch Homes in Pembroke, New Hampshire. He toured the facility and took questions from employees, renewing his call for a six-month freeze on federal regulations. Additionally, he specifically criticized proposed federal mandates being considered by the U.S. Senate that would enable federal takeover of local building codes.
If theres one area that government needs to get out of the way, its in regulation, said Gov. Perry. With too many American homeowners and homebuilders financially strapped, these proposed federal building codes will hurt job creation, home prices, homebuilders and homeowners. The federal government has no business federalizing local building or energy efficiency guidelines and costing America jobs in the process.
Like many Washington regulations, this housing mandate, proposed by New Hampshires own Sen. Jean Shaheen, gives little or no consideration to likely increases in the cost of a home. If passed, federal regulators at the Department of Energy would be allowed to take over the local building codes if they decide the private sector isnt meeting federal mandates fast enough.

Renews call for temporary freeze of federal regulations

Runaway government regulations and rogue Federal departments should be the centerpiece of the Republican’s campaign.
They should be defunded and sent to the trash heap...
That will not likely happen. Only Perry has the guts to come out and say it. And for that, he gets trashed on this forum for some reason.
I recognize such criticism can be a bit tricky. Congress, including the republicans in it, are complicit in all this regulation run a muck. They are the ones who write the bills delegating Congressional power to the Executive. They are the ones funding it all. They are the ultimate source of the problem.
But as I say, there are plenty of republicans there that are part of the problem so how to express the criticism can be a delicate problem for a retail politician (not for me of course).
“Only Perry has the guts to come out and say it.”
This is the impression I am getting of Perry: that he gets the BIG picture. That he sees ALL the ways ALL the dreadful things the Fed’l Gov’t has been doing for DECADES is destroying our country.
And, he certainly is no wimp about opening his mouth. And as a native born yankee from NYC I really like that.
Hey, maybe I’m wrong, maybe the guy is a dope, or a crook, or (worse!) a RINO.
But if he is not, if he is THE person who GETS IT, who really gets it all, we better all get behind him and PUSH!
Because there is another push, and that one is coming to shove.
Barack Obama is the apotheosis of the liberal/progressive/socialist dream for America; he has pushed this country to the brink of ruin. If he get’s another term he will shove us over in the first 6 months and spend 3 1/2 years gloating about it.
Good for Perry to focus on this topic — one that usually only gets a brief mention in many campaigns.
Now, how about illegal immigration, Governor?
I’m waiting for ANY candidate to address this problem as well.
The “reason” is some supporters of other candidates find it cool to smear and trash with distortions of Perrys record with paulnutz dirty tactics, with some mistaken notion that pulling down one candidate boosts their fav.
Take the latest from ronpaul acting like larryflint with his ad offerring a bounty looking for sex dirt on Perry. Plus the revelation of ronpaul getting a million dollar contribution from some Russian foreign group in June. So very patriotic of the weasel.
He has a book called ‘Fed Up’... my local library had it but then I live in Texas...you need to read that book...he is a huge 10th Amendment Man...that will help you to grasp who Perry is.
IF there was ANYTHING whatsoever to that...it’d have been flushed out long ago in Texas. Lots of dems worked O/T to beat Perry....believe me if he had ANYTHING...they’d have found it.
His degree is in animal science. A very bad major for a dope.
I totally agree, he’s been through several really dirty campaigns, dirty by his opponents, and nothing was found.
I suppose that is why ronpaul had to resort to larryflint tactic to see if he could dredge up anything.
The dems are in a for a big surprise.
“Michael, it’s not personal. It’s business!” Tom Hagan.
Sure looks like OB/GYN is the degree of dopes from Lake Jackson. Maybe why ronpaul choose the larryflint style ad trolling for dirt on Perry?
Knowing Texas A&M, ANY degree from there beats most degrees from ANY other college.
***that he gets the BIG picture. That he sees ALL the ways ALL the dreadful things the Fedl Govt has been doing for DECADES is destroying our country.***
Read his book “Fed Up!” It is a primer on the Tenth Amendment, the Founders’ Vision, and how Washington has screwed it up. This is why the Beltway Bozos can’t stand him.
You like this ronpaul “larryflint” style of “business”?
You think its appropriate and benefits our goal of saving America?
What about ronpaul getting the cool million from the russians? Just business too?
Its more clear day by day that ronpaul subscribes to the “end justifies the means” style of politics.
