Caroline, No by Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys , one of the most heartbreaking, yet beautiful songs ever written and recorded. I'll second that. It's my favorite track off the Beach Boy's "Pet Sounds" album. Pure genius, and tough to listen to only once.
