Obama: Tea-party GOP blocking U.S. recovery
The Washington Times ^ | August 16, 2011 | Dave Boyer

Posted on 08/17/2011 8:33:39 AM PDT by upchuck

A day after clashing with a tea party activist, President Obama Tuesday told crowds here that it was “a faction in Congress” that was to blame for blocking economic progress.

At a rural jobs forum, Mr. Obama ticked off a list of pending bills that he said would create jobs.

“The only thing that’s preventing us from passing the bills I just mentioned is the refusal of a faction in Congress to put country ahead of party,” the president said in a thinly veiled reference to House Republicans backed by the tea party. “That has to stop.”

...

Mr. Obama expressed urgency about the unemployment rate of 9.1 percent, saying “time is running out.” But time may also be short for his reelection prospects if the jobless rate remains high. No president in the past 50 years has been reelected with an unemployment rate of more than 7.2 percent.

The president said he will propose in September a specific plan to boost the economy, and he is challenging audiences to tell Republican lawmakers on their August recess to support his upcoming plan.

The idea that those who want to get back to societal, political & economic values that work--that are proven by experience--are blocking our economic progress, is par for the Demagogue. Like Robespierre, Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Stalin, Hitler, et al., our totalitarian minded demagogue always uses the technique of identifying a scape goat, to incentivize the mob. This is par for Obama.

America was based upon reason & experience. Leftwing economics, sociology & political theory is always cloudborne. Obama is a prime exhibit for those who do not understand the game.

See America Grounded On Experience.

I thought the Dems were all for governence of the minority. They celebrate us all being at the whims of Atheists, Homosexuals, deviants, etc.

Shouldn’t they be celebrating the minority in government being in control of us all?

We need to repeat over and over that the Tea Party Caucus is 13% of the House and 4% of the Senate. How does such a small faction control anything? Answer: it doesn’t.

“I want to enlist your help,” Mr. Obama told a small tickets-only audience in Peosta.

Help is what this nit needs, but not from this planet.........Canadian buses at a huge cost to the country for three days so this failed man can ape Palin with his own bus tour? This is exactly why the Tea Party came into being.....excess government, excess expense, by an excessive president who loves the hi-life...he is off to Martha's Vineyard for a posh vacation few others other than Saudi Princes can afford..............didn't he just come back from Camp David....oh yeah, he doesn't like that 'rough' place.

Now it is “unpatriotic” to balk at spending trillions we don't have?

Dems are starting to get a strange bunker mentality going - they're going over the edge with that kind of thinking...

This is all part of the script - demonize the Tea Party and then paint the GOP candidate that color. Chuck Todd has been doing it for about a week. The MSM is following. Great Leader continues the narrative.

Dear President Obama,

About that gridlock in Congress....that was created in the 2010 election by the citizens of the United States who gave the big spenders in Congress a message - Stop the Out-Of-Control Spending. We went to DC and were ignored, we wrote, we emailed, we went to Town Halls to no avail.

So, with that historic shellacking the People put that gridlock in place to stop both parties from destroying this nation with debt. You are frustrated? So were we but we don’t have big donors, big Unions, big lobbyists or big money all we had is our one vote and vote we did.

How can a country protect its citizens, be prepared for emergencies or take care of those in need if it constantly maxes out its credit cards?

As he tours in his Canadian-manufactured bus and lectures "the People," he faces the "jobs" deficit, which his Keynesian economic philosophy has not and will not solve, as well as the potential collapse of his so-called "health care" mandate.

No wonder he criticizes the millions in that great movement called Tea Partiers who continue to publicize, oppose, and bring pressure on their elected representatives to resist the agenda to "fundamentally transform" America--the one nation in the world where hundreds of millions have fled to enjoy liberty.

Now is the time to stand for the foundational principles of liberty enshrined in the 1787 Constitution.

The "Trojan horse" called "health care reform" simply was a vehicle in the goal of "transforming America" from its foundations in individual liberty to one of coercive rule by political elites--imperfect persons in positions of power in government.

America's Founders understood the latter concept well, and they soundly rejected it in favor of a written "People's" Constitution to forever limit, separate, check and balance, and "bind down" their elected and appointed representatives in government. In Article V, they provided the only valid means of amending that written Constitution. The results were astounding!

Then, along came the so-called "progressives" who, in their arrogance and lust for power and control, several decades ago began to erode those "foundations" of individual liberty. Now, led by the current Administration, "health care reform" was to lay a different and opposite foundation.

By the Founders' formula, "the People's" written Constitution was the anchor of our liberties, binding government to the "People's" limitations on its power.

The "progressives" (who are, in fact, regressive in their counterfeit ideas), in effect, would undo all the monumental work accomplished by the Founders on behalf of liberty and leave the law afloat and without anchor, relying, as of old, on mere men and women.

From Page xv of "Our Ageless Constitution," allow me to include here excerpted words from President Andrew Jackson's Proclamation of December 10, 1832:

"We have received it [the Constitution] as the work of the assembled wisdom of the nation. We have trusted to it as to the sheet anchor of our safety in the stormy times of conflict with a foreign or domestic foe. We have looked to it with sacred awe as the palladium of our liberties, and with all the solemnities of religion have pledged to each other our lives and fortunes here and our hopes of happiness hereafter in its defense and support. Were we mistaken, my countrymen, in attaching this importance to the Constitution . . .? No. We were not mistaken. The letter of this great instrument is free from this radical fault. . . . No, we did not err! . . . The sages . . . have given us a practical and, as they hoped, a permanent* Constitutional compact. . . . The Constitution is still the object of our reverence, the bond of our Union, our defense in danger, the source of our prosperity in peace: it shall descend, as we have received it, uncorrupted by sophistical construction, to our posterity. . . ."

*Underlining added for emphasis

And, it was Thomas Jefferson who used another metaphor with reference to the Constitution when he indicated that "the People" must "bind them (government) by the chains of the Constitution." In another instance, he declared: "It was intended to lace them up straitly within the enumerated powers. . . ."

As we see, when "the People" begin to be informed and to assert their Constitutional mandate to "lace them up. . . within the enumerated powers," those who wish to expand the power of government can be heard to complain.

Not blocking recovery, Obama. They’re blocking your
inflationary spending—one of the things you’re causing
to stop recovery. They’re standing in the way of your
tax hikes—another of the things you cause to block the recovery. In other words, Obama, they’re going to sit on the back of your neck as you smash face first into the dirt
and remain there until you grind to a halt.

“.Canadian buses at a huge cost to the country for three days “

Two busses. And the excuse he gave was that one was for him, and the other for the Republican nominee, to use during the campaign! Total BS excuse!

Where was BO from January 2009 to December 2010? The GOP didn’t have a majority anywhere until they took office January 2011, a mere seven months ago. Republicans should hammer that home to the dim bulbs who may have forgotten this.

They won’t and I’m getting sick and tired of it.

There is not one Federal Agency that is required for this country to function. If the FAA were to disappear, not one flight would be cancelled. If the FCC were to vanish, not one broadcast would be interrupted, every single facet of the Federal behemoth does nothing to produce any kind of profit or benefit. If the Federal government, which is bankrupt, were to close doors tomorrow, everything would go on. Banks would still be open, kids would go to school, we would all be going to our jobs. In short, no one would even notice.

I propose we do just that. Lay them all off, because USA Inc. can not afford them. We are bankrupt. Time to close the doors. For one year, and one year only, stop all Federal taxes.
With in 18 months, every house would be sold, every business would be booming, every person would be employed, every person would be out of debt or near out of debt.

After the one year of total tax relief, start to hire back in ten percent increments per fiscal quarter until all the work can get done, then freeze Federal hiring until there is an actual need for more staff.
