* Perry threatens Fed chairman, Bachmann also criticizes
* Remarks reflect intense political pressure on Fed
* White House says threatening Bernanke "not a good idea" (Adds fresh quotes from Bachmann, Obama, economist)
WASHINGTON, Aug 16 (Reuters) - The White House denounced Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry on Tuesday for his threatening remarks toward the head of the U.S. Federal Reserve that represented some of the most inflammatory rhetoric of the 2012 election campaign.
Campaigning in Iowa on Monday, the Texas governor said he would consider it "treasonous" if Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke "prints more money between now and the election" in November 2012 -- a fresh sign of the political heat the central bank faces as it tries to right the stumbling U.S. economy.
"If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I don't know what y'all will do to him in Iowa, but we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas," Perry said to laughter from supporters in Iowa.
"Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous, treasonous in my opinion," he said.
The White House responded by saying it is important for the Fed to remain independent, and jabbed back at Perry, who on Saturday entered the race for the Republican nomination to face Democratic President Barack Obama. Perry is already considered one of the strongest candidates for the Republican nomination.

Well, this is getting interesting.
First, Perry gets under the narcissists skin by reminding him he was an Air Force officer and C-130 pilot.
Then, he calls the Fed out for their blatant manipulation.

Obama's Veep can call the teaparty terrorists but no one on the other side can utter a word about the traitorous actions of this White House and its lackeys?
That said, I do hope Perry is strategic with his attacks and chooses his words carefully. Obama is a target rich environment and a careless man might get carried away.

If you look at the comments section at Reuters you will see most of the people agree with Perry.
What a joke we have for a president.

Man, Obama really wants to run against Romney.

Looks like the Fed Chairman has friends in high places.
Maybe the Perry people should cite several respected financial guys who would back up that statement in a heartbeat. Don’t let the White House isolate you and make people think you don’t know what’s going on.
Perry should not take this lying down - from Rove or anyone else. Fight back.

Bernanke is stealing your savings.
Destroying the credit of America. If that isn’t treasonous it is at least stupid.

Perry's shot across the bow of QE Fed captained by Benny and crewed by the Pretend and extenders zombie bank is a classic battle between the money interests and the frontiers/know nothings people. Calling Benny and the Fed treasonous freezes the Fed until after the election (eventhough they already admitted they were out of bullets and on the sidelines until after the election).
What I find interesting is all the critics of Perry's statement dwell on use of the word 'treason' which they claim is a hanging offense. I have heard no one examine the meaning of Perry's statement, which in my opinion, was Printing money forever weakens a country's currency and thus weakens a country.

“The White House responded by saying it is important for the Fed to remain independent, and jabbed back at Perry,”
Yeah that shows “independence” all right.
These people are striving for the Marxist goal of “no wealth”.

Billionaire business mogul Penny Pritzker is a member of one of Americas richest families and was the Finance Chair for the presidential campaign of Barack Obama. It was Pritzker that led the prolific, and illegal, fundraising that helped power Barack Obamas presidential campaign. She was the chair of Chicago-based Superior Banks board for five years. Pritzker was into subprime lending before it became all the rage starting in around 2000. Prtizker's chairmanship was to concentrate on sub prime lending, principally on home mortgages, but for a while in subprime auto lending, too, after the Pritzkers' bank acquired its wholesale mortgage organization division, Alliance Funding, in December 1992.
Back then they called it "predatory lending." Superior Bank went belly up in 2001 with over $1 billion in insured and uninsured deposits; 1,406 depositors lost much of their life savings. This collapse came amid harsh criticism of how Superiors owners promoted sub-prime home mortgages.
On Nov. 1 [2002] the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. pointed the finger at Ernst & Young, Superiors auditor, in a fraud suit filed in federal court here. But that action came two months after a group of Superior depositors accused the banks owners and directors, including two members of the Pritzker family, of racketeering.... |

...Pritzker is chairman of Classic Residence by Hyatt, luxury senior living communities in 11 states; chairman of The Parking Spot, which owns and operates off-airport parking facilities in nine cities; chairman of the credit data company TransUnion and chairman of Pritzker Realty. She also sits on the board of Global Hyatt and plays a role in numerous non-profit groups, including serving as chairman of the Olympic village portion of Chicagos bid to win the 2016 Summer Games.

In fact, some argue that with no appetite among politicians for more fiscal stimulus, Fed action could be the only avenue left for Washington to support the U.S. economic recovery. How is government action such as the stimulus or FED money printing helping the economy? That's the question. We should no longer just assume that either are helping.

The White House is worried about Perry? That makes 2 of us. :(
His conservative credentials are thin. I can see him talking the talk, getting elected, and then being a debacle like Warren G. Harding sometime around 2014.
Then again, standards were a lot higher in the 1920s. I’d settle for Harding.

Even ‘republicans’ are attacking Perry.
This morning, FoxNews had Santorum on criticizing Perry for his ‘treasonous’ comment.
Perry’s entry has really upset the establishment Republicans, and Dems, and MSM apple cart.
