SPARTANBURG, S.C. Republican presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann got her Elvis Presley dates all shook up during a campaign stop Tuesday in South Carolina.
The congresswoman from Minnesota played the Elvis tune "Promised Land" at a local restaurant and told the crowd of 300 that she wanted to say happy birthday to the king of rock `n' roll.
"Before we get started, let's all say happy birthday to Elvis Presley today!" Bachmann said.

This is her “Stand-Up, Chuck!” moment...
Its OK, Elvis votes democrat these days anyway.
I can’t believe she would say something like that without making sure she was absolutely right.
This reminds me to put “Clambake” and “Kid Galahad” in my Netflix queue.... THANKS!
She’s got to be careful, O’Bama can say there are 57 states and it’s no big deal but any mistake from her and they’ll be on her like white on rice.
I like Michelle but, she needs new meds.
WOW
This is definitely NOT a Palin-like Paul Revere mnoment
This time the GOP lady has made a deadly BOO BOO
I don’t understand the point of even mentioning Elvis. I mean, I loved Elvis, but come on - she’s running for president. And the media will milk this for all it’s worth. Stupid mistake.
Someone in her circle is feeding her misinformation, a Romneybot maybe, prolly laughing like hell about now
IMO, people should be celebrated on the birthdays not the day they cease to exist.
She needs a teleprompter.
Yep. She is a gaffe machine.
Good grief.
Yup. Once you’ve assumed room temperature you’ve become a lifetime democrat voter. Whether you like it or not.
Well, Ms. Bachmann is human and like all humans, she makes mistakes. Of course, the media is going to pounce all over every misstep. Had Obama said something like that, it wouldn’t have even been mentioned or if it was, it would be glossed over or explained away. You know, the guy is under so much stress from being president (I use the term president loosely).
That Rollins. He is such a prankster!
I couldn't agree more. There was no specific connection to Elvis with the location at which she was speaking - why try to be "folksy"? And then to make a mistake like this!
I see Dukakis rolling in a tank.
I saw Elvis today and he was pretty upset about it.
