“I seriously doubt the Repubs in the House will have anything to do with this.”

They already signed on with the debt supercommittee. : /

Idiots!

“but the dumbf GOP didn’t. And, where the hell are they???”

We’ve been asking that question since the last Pres. election. No answer holds up.

It’s looking more and more to me like we have a one-party system-—the Socialist Party-—with two wings, the Moderate Socialists and the Marxist Socialists.

Oh, great—more social-social jobs from the mounting debt pile to keep the peasants in their place.

Might as well turn the whole government into a “supercommittee” front. That’s what’s running it from the shadows anyway.

These “supercommittees” have got to stop! I suppose they are technically constitutional, since the House and the Senate are empowered to set their own internal rules and procedures. And bills are usually produced by committees. They still have to be approved by both houses of the legislature, as appropriate.

However, to my knowledge, the two houses have never worked so closely in concert before, and I can’t believe that this was what the authors of the Constitution had in mind.

I know the Congress critters want to do this so that they can avoid accepting any responsibility for any decisions that are made. But it seems to me that even if this is not blatantly unconstitutional, it is definitely undermining our system.

Just great. A department of jobs that works as well as department of energy or education will have us all out of work

Ours is a one-party, elitist system ... sans the tea party “extremists.”

“Ours is a one-party, elitist system ... sans the tea party “extremists.””

I don’t think “elitist” explains Repubs profound silence these last several years, except when they want to denounce the Tea Party as “extremist.” They could keep their jobs if they joined the Tea Party platform to gut the Federal gov’t, repeal tyrannical regulations, and at least mention the Constitution every once and a while.

I started to read the thread you linked and got as far as this JR comment:

JimRob:

Shut up, Karl, and join the rebellion!! Enough of communism vs communism-lite. It’s still communism!!

LOL! I was trying to be more tactful when I said:

The idea of a Department of Jobs blows.

That or it will have only Steve Jobs sitting there, shriveling up, after whose demise, Apple will be confiscated.

/s (maybe, but only the last part)
