Texas Gov. Rick Perry is a leading advocate of gun rights who likes to boast of having dispatched a coyote on a recent jog, so I asked him during today's walking press conference at the Iowa State Fair whether he was armed. "I never comment on whether I'm carrying a handgun or not," he said. "That's why it's called concealed." (If he was armed, he could have found himself in hot water with the state police over a ban at the fair that has rankled some local gun groups.) Perry's appearance at the fair, where he challenged reporters on whether they were "tough" enough to walk with him, chomped on meat and a hard-boiled egg and struck rugged poses was a well-staged political triumph.

This has to rate, as a stupid reporter question, right up there with “boxers or briefs”? It shows both disrespect to the person, but more importantly, disrespect for the office.
I would have much preferred for Perry to chew him out, as being ill-prepared to ask questions, and doing a disservice both to his news organization and to its readers or viewers. He could then go down a list of major problems facing the State and its people, that matter in people’s lives.
Then ask the report to pick one as a subject to discuss.
They come in a two-legged variety as well...
Plus Perry has a degree in animal science from Texas A&M. Liberal heads will explode when they find this out. Perry gets elected- no more scummy Harvard elitists dominating government. Obama has appointed so many Harvard people.....
This man is much more pro-2nd amendment than GWB. I think I know who I will vote for. Let the MSM gloat. I want a President who will stand UP for the 2nd amendment forcefully.
The reporter says that Perry likes to brag about killing that coyote. I heard about it when it happened, and really haven't heard much about it since.
I suppose some people would have been happier if Gov. Perry had stood around wringing his hands helplessly as the coyote carried off his dog rather than shooting the coyote.
I consider asking someone whether or not he or she is carrying a pretty rude question, myself.
LOL!! Me too.
My first reaction was negative )I'm not tooo keen on mixing religion and politics, though I am a Bible-reading born-again Christian. But I'm finding him interesting...need to kick the tires a bit more.
That is your opinion.
All I can say is that we should not dismiss Perry’s sympathies toward Islam. It requires further investigation and, I am sure, that more will be revealed over time, pro or against him.
No way that I will vote for any “Christian” who will promote Islam in this country — a “religion” poised to destroy Christianity. It’s sad enough that we have a Congress that is totally silent on muslim matters because of their PC politics.
They were striking some rugged poses though!
Over a ban at the fair that has rankled some local gun groups.
Could there be connection between those rules and the fact that fairgoers up in the great state of Wisconsin were attacked?
I think that's highly unlikely to happen. A Presidential candidate usually picks a VP from a state he needs to carry. One with a lot of electorial votes. Rubio (FL) would be the much better choice IMO. Plus the ethnic factor as well. Alaska doesn't have that many electorial votes and he's likely to carry that in any case. JFK didn't pick LBJ because he liked him, that's for sure.
The reporter sounds like he is having a Chrissy Matthews moment, all tingly and “vaklempt”.
What we need is a President who OC’s.
Here’s a fun video to make the MSM apoplectic. Perry makes Rush an honorary Texan.

Yep!
Notice that they don’t have to bother asking Romney if he is.
Yeah... the folks at DU seem to be obsessed with the idea that hes gay...
That Gov. Perry then, because that is right up their alley, or something else. :-)
Don't ask, don't tell on Jesse....
Is Perry packing?
Only THAT kind of moron would even ask a question like that!
Perry answered correctly! :)
