I just committed myself 15 mins ago. My first round donation is done. Was always looking for the winnable conservative candidate with extensive executive experience. Between Romney and Perry, choice is clear. Only other possible entrant is Palin and she interested me as a reform minded GOP Governor who was a VP candidate. While she may enter the race and be more to the right of Perry, I am not looking for the "right most" candidate.

If you need to have it explained why Sarah resigned (the ONLY governor ever to resign who was NOT under indictment) then you should stay home and not vote because you are too ignorant of current events

Please. We were stationed in the Middle East for a while. My little thumb knows more about Islam than most. My husband’s grandfather was a CIA operative with extensive Middle Eastern involvement.

Then why, may I ask, are you ready to commit time and money to Perry in 30 days?
If Bachman is your first choice, that is who you commit to and work for during the primaries. If all of the folks that liked a certain candidate best would actually work to get that candidate elected, more long-shot candidates would have a chance to win.
I wanted to thank you for posting that quote from Jim. I looked for it all day yesterday when the Perry bashing started. I trust Jim Robinson completely and his judgement, so when the bashing began by posters, and the name calling and degrading implications started (you know, ‘perrybots’, ‘fools’, ‘not conservative FReepers’, ‘unlearned’, ignorant’ etc) I wanted to let them know that they are including, not just posters who look at Perry favorably, but the owner of the site as well. It’s disgusting that you can’t point out the truly outstanding traits of a candidate, who definitely has more positive than negative, without getting attacked.

I asked Mister Jim Rob in a ping and he also said he supports Palin,Bachmann,Perry,Cain. So this infighting and name calling all around is a waste of time irregardless. With Perry Bachmann in; the vote could split. With Perry,Bachmann,Palin in; the vote will surely split and guess who SMILES and wins at this either way?ObamneyCare, Romney with a crap eatin grin on his face.

It’s not so much *what* one sez as *how* one sez it.
And in case I’d not mentioned it in a while, nice Zot messages.
We still have time and imho, there are a few that are going to completely flame out and narrow the field even more. Personally I’ve ruled out most and the more they talk the more people will rule them out as well. It’s inevitable. But to attack each other on here is quite disturbing. Attack the positions of a candidate or attack the candidate with facts but stop killing the messenger if they happen to support someone that others don’t. (exception to that would be Romney, Paul, and Obama!)
