p>The Talk Shows
August 14th, 2011
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): 2012 GOP presidential candidate and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Bachmann; Gov. Terry Branstad, R-Iowa.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Bachmann; Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Bachmann and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, both 2012 GOP presidential candidates.
STATE OF THE UNION (CNN): Bachmann and Herman Cain, also a 2012 GOP presidential candidate; Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa
Hopefully, Rush will have more to say about this in the coming weeks.
It would not matter in the least what Bachmann did, you would find a reason to complain about it. GOP voters are not stupid. They see right thru these sorts of political tactics.
Save it for somebody who GARA about your opinion.
I especially enjoyed the way she handled the appointment of judges and officials in her administration. The issue of whether they were gay or not was of no consequence because the question wouldn't be asked. It wouldn't be one of her criteria.
Johnnie, I think you’re mixing apples and oranges here. First of all, I have never seen Gov Palin trash talking another Republican candidate, and certainly not the way Pawlenty trashed Bachman.
Secondly, supporters on Free Republic are a whole ‘nother animal! Getting them to behave is like herding cats. And who really knows who is real and who is a disrupter, even a hack for the democrats. I hope on this thread most of us know each other well enough to discern that, but FReepers, by Gollly, are going to speak their minds. And yes, many a stupid thing has been said here. ESPECIALLY about the various candidates. We all have see good friends banned for suporting the ill-favored candidates. I hated that, hate it, and still will. I do not want ot see various FReepers called out for supporting a Republican.
But seriously, Gov Sarah Palin has been a breath of FRESH air when it comes to keeping positive about everyone in her party.
Yeah, 26 years is a liability but no experience is an asset, what galaxy do we live in?
Pray for America
You better be careful on what you say here, ken5050, or the PC Police will get after you for trashing a potential candidate& for their weaknesses and past history! It would be much better to not have vetted one and then let the opposition do it for us so we can sit back and lament "Gee, I didn't know that" (In our best Rowan & Martin facial expression)! Why weren't we made aware of that person's short comings or history before we voted that person to face Obama?
My sarcasm is definitely intended! As for myself, I deal in facts and documented evidence and state my conclusions notwithstanding PC Police. If the shoe fits, wear it!
LOL. Beam me up Scotty. Obama’s lack of qualifications didn’t seem to be a problem in 2008. He was the least qualified person comparing both tickets. No executive experience at all. No legislative achievements. And a life cloaked in secrecy except for an autobiography that the MSM accepted at face value. We are now paying the price.
Of course Social Conservatives deserve that type of treatment, theyre intolerant.
^^^^
And that is why they continually focus on the ‘social’ issues in their questioning, instead of questions about the future economic health and national safety of the country.
Rumors now are that Hillary would be challenging him were it not for the race factor. Other rumors I have seen indicate that 1/3 of the dems would dump zero if they could, but once again its the color of his skin calling many of the shots.
He will never stop playing that card. Its just too easy to call someone a racist then putting them on a never ending defensive to disprove the lie.
You call Ingraham "trampy" and don't like Bachmann ? What are you doing on FR. I understand some don't like Michelle, but she's a good conservative, and "trampy" is the very last adjective in the dictionary that I'd apply to Laura Ingraham.
David Gregory is a piece of dirt - just like the POS he defends. People like him in the media may have to lose it all before they come to their senses (and I hope they do).
Best I can say, Bray, is we have the same problem here.
Now that the Tea Party has taken over at least Sussex county, it is we who need to make right with the Blue Bloods who so trashed us.
I am the secretary of our RDC...reporting to our RDC and working with him. With an open mind, but not so open my brains fall out, I been doing my best. I shall never forget how some of those hateful people trashed and told lies about us, not to mention our fairly chosen candidate, Christine O’Donnell.
But they are showing back up. They are now timid, following the rules dear Lord imagine that we now have tules. They don’t get to call the News Journal and tell about screaming women and cussing children at the Sussex GOP meetings, lies, lies and more lies. They must now raise their hand, be a duly elected EDC, RDC or member of the executive committee. And the Wilmington News Urinal does not get to call those loser-burgers any more for nastiness about us.
Point being....well here’s the rule of thumb I intend to follow...I will be very nice, polite and civil to the lying scum burgers as I would be to the new grass roots workers who have shown up. The second, the very SECOND, any one of them betrays...I will bare my teeth and do the nasty as nasty can be. They will NEVER do this to us again.
My RDC, Lord don’t let him see this. One of his EDC’s put an article in Redstate.com about the Delaware Blue Blood ruling Class and my guy like to curse and complain for an hour. Although, heh, I thought the guy was right but will allow that maybe now was not the time.
Heh.
Since they are blatantly for Obama why would they "vet" him? They want him to look good; to win! They "believe" in him. He is their's. As Obama said, "He is the one they've been waiting for!" By they, Obama meant the press, along with all his other supporters.
We'd all do better if we keep remembering that the driveby media, the press--the AP, ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, PBS, NYT, WP, etc, etc--are democrats, and they are unfit to act neutral when they've obviously and already taken a side. They are terribly biased against conservatives.
We should be telling our friends and families this daily. Our candidates should be bringing it up at the start of every interview.
Let the press deny it; if we keep saying it (which is only the objective truth), people will begin to look for it--and like the sillouette picture of the beautiful young lady that turns into an old hag, once they see it they will not be able to un-see it.
Agree. The Dems would never challenge him, the first black President, for the nomination for reelection. They would lose their most loyal constituency, not only for this coming election but future ones. It would be political suicide for the party. Hillary understands that better than most.
That is THE ticket. I even think she’d leave a legacy of energy independence for America if she were to be appointed Energy Secretary. That is where her expertise is.
